IMPORTANT Your furniture leg cups must have a 1-1/2" "INSIDE" diameter
These are pressure fit glides and will require some force to install. A tight fit is necessary to prevent them from falling out.
The glides may appear too large. This is normal.
If the glides are not forced in and pressed against the sides of the cups, they will eventually fall out.
If you have trouble installing
Boiling the glides will soften them up and allow for easier installation.
If the cups are bent and/or the glides are a little loose/tight, use a pair of pliers to slightly bend the edges of the cup wall.
INSTALLATION
1 Place your chair or table on a piece of cardboard or a towel to prevent scratching.
2 Use whatever tool you can (screwdriver or pliers) to remove the old feet.
3 Once the old feet are out, clean the cup area really well. Remove all dirt, debris, rust, etc. Use sandpaper if you need and touch up any exposed metal.
4 Force is needed to hit the glides in since they are friction fit. Use a rubber mallet or rubber hammer.
5 Place the glide on top of the cup so that it is level. A piece of tape can be helpful to hold the glide in place if you are having trouble.
6 Strike the glide directly in the middle and down into the cup. Start with a medium strike to get the glide set and check that it is inserting evenly.
7 Once the glide is in the cup on its own, continue to hit it the rest of the way.
8 After the glide is forced inside the cup, the ridge circling the outside of the plastic foot glide will be shaved off. The pressure against the sides of the cup will hold the glide in place.
9 Relax and enjoy the rest of the day!
