  1. There are many wonderful options for your area. A few of my favorites for edging are catmint (Nepeta), blue mist (Caryopteris x clandonensis), lavender, or any of a wide variety of ornamental grasses. Any of these can be used as a solo edging or work beautifully when mixed or matched with one or two companions. For example, catmint look stunning when interplanted with blue oat grass (Helictotrichon sempervirens). Rockrose (Cistus spp.) is great as a solo edging plant. And lavender is sensational with santolina or germander (Teucrium spp.). Happy planting!
