  1. My fertilizer of choice for organic vegetable gardens is compost and/or aged manure. Organic foliar sprays are also great, such as seaweed-based sprays or liquid fish fertilizer. Other highly effective organic options include a fish meal-based granular fertilizer, worm castings, or manure tea. One all natural, all purpose fish fertilizer is Bio-Fish.

When buying an all-purpose fertilizer, look for natural ingredients such as fish bone meal, blood meal, worm castings, feather meal, soft rock phosphate, and kelp meal. I typically use a seaweed-based liquid fertilizer for flowering baskets that’s high in phosphorus for prolific blooms. Happy Gardening!
