Compared to a conventional dishwasher manufactured before 2006)
  • Save effort with the new PowerScour™ option — This option uses 40 targeted spray jets in a designated wash area to scour away baked on foods. The new design features larger jets that deliver two times more coverage to clean even your large pots and pans without soaking, scrubbing, or using an additional drop of water
  • Easily wash large or odd-shaped items — With features like the EZ-2-Lift™ adjustable upper rack, AnyWare™ Plus silverware basket and the industry-exclusive EZ Adjustable tines you'll have enough space to clean up after your next family meal or gathering and use the 15-place setting capacity to its fullest
  • 100% usable rack space — Our improved AnyWare™ Plus silverware basket now holds up to 12 more pieces of silverware for maximum flexibility and is designed to clean better. Its improved design also allows you to access small silverware and easily place the basket on the counter for unloading
  • Our quietest line of dishwashers ever — Equipped with our Quiet Partner™ sound packages and sound-reducing insulation, these models minimize noise, so you can run the dishwasher without it interfering with your daily routine
  • Automatically select the right wash and dry settings for your load — The Sensor cycle uses two separate sensors to measure temperature, soil level and load size once during the prewash and once during the wash cycle. Cleans tough soils 35% better while using just the right amount of time, energy and water, helping you have more time to do what you love (Compared to previous wash system)
  • No One Has Fewer Repairs 15 Years In A Row — Whirlpool® dishwashers are designed to endure repeated use and to deliver years of reliable performance (According to a leading consumer magazine)
  • Save on your energy bills — This CEE Tier 2 qualified and ENERGY STAR® qualified appliance uses up to 20% less energy than dishwashers without the ENERGY STAR® rating (Based on the Consortium for Energy Efficiency product qualifications. Visit cee1.org for more information)

Great dishwasher
Purchase couple weeks ago when Sears had a great coupon and low price. Got it for $460 before taxes. Installed two weeks ago. Wife and I love the new dishwasher. Does a great job on all items although we tend not to wash large pots in the dishwasher very often. Tried the one hour wash and it did a great job so we use that quick setting. Without the short one hour wash the dishwasher takes 1 hour and 45 minutes to complete a load on sensor setting. Stainless steel tub and nylon racks are huge step up from the 17 year old Whirlpool that this one replaced. Everything comes out totally dry on the high setting and almost everything is dry on the Eco dry setting.

This Whirlpool is definitely quiet, however . . .

This Whirlpool is the quietest dishwasher I have ever owned.  However the specifications say self-cleaning filters, but the first page of the owner's manual suggests you clean the upper and lower filters once a month.  The covers on the silverware basket are useless if you have silverware that has any size to the handles.  Also, when the basket is used in the door, you can only fit small spoons and forks in the left side of the basket, since any handles longer than that don't fit under the detergent dispenser.  I wish I had saved the basket from my old dishwasher to place in one of the trays.  The tines in the lower tray are flimsy; that when I put a Corningware dish in front of the powerscour jets, it flexes them out of place.  I find the cleaning abiity to be average.

Worth Every Penny Spent

Model #WDT910SSYW I have been washing dishes by hand for over 30 yrs. And my wife said its time for a dishwasher. (This is our first dishwasher and we love it.) Dishwashers are a necessity now and not a luxury. Saves time, money and energy. We've had ours for a few month now. Its easy to load/unload dishes. We are a family of 4 and can fit 3 meals of dishes, including some pots/pans inside, to wash all at once. (This dishwasher is big and can hold a lot of dishes.) We have the white exterior with stainless steel interior. (Sad to say, but the inside is much more attractive, then the outside.) This model has 3 washer arms. (Lower, upper and top.) Even though the washer arms are made of plastic, they seem very durable. (The lower and upper washer arms are removable for easy cleaning.) The anywhere silverware basket, gives more options to load more dishes in the bottom rack. Both racks can fit a lot of dishes of different shapes and sizes. I have found, that if dishes are not placed properly, they will not be all the way clean. This dishwasher does an excellent job of cleaning all our dishes. From baked on food in pots/pans, to dinner wear with dried on food. (No need to pre-rinse dishes.) I haven't noticed the dishes being thrown around after a wash cycle either. (We use a combination of plastic and ceramic dishes.) The Power Scour option for cleaning pans works really good. We use Finish Quantum Tablets and Finish Rinse Aid for each wash cycle. Using them together, along with the cleaning efficiency of the dishwasher, makes for very clean and spot free dishes. Even though the directions tell you to empty the dishwasher shortly after a completed cycle, its not necessary. (You can leave the dishes in over night.) When washing plastic wear and cups from like Starbucks, the normal or quick wash cycle works best with economy drying. (Heavier wash cycles will cause the plastic to loss shape.) I clean the two filters once a week, which isn't hard to do. (Unless I see food in them.) Once a month, I use Finish Dishwasher Cleaner to clean the entire inside, racks, washer arms and motor components. (This gives the dishwasher a fresh clean smell) You can interrupt a wash cycle to place/remove a dish. The different ways the upper and lower racks can be configured, is really helpful and gives more options for arranging dishes. I really like the silverware basket. You can remove the entire basket, using the carrying handle, and carry it over to wherever you need to place your clean silverware. (Very convenient .) The normal wash cycle is close to 1 1/2 hrs. At 51 decibels, its very quite when run at night. We can't see the display, when the door is closed, but it is easier to make selections, with the controls being on top of the door, rather then on the front of the door. If there was one option I wish we had, that would be a time left display for each wash cycle.

Great dishwasher

It is really a great dishwasher! I lov it! The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is the cycles are so long. Other than that its perfect! It cleans awesome!! Would definitely recommend!!no more washing my dishes before the dishwasher washes them!! I like whirlpool better than kenmore even though I know whirlpool makes some kenmore products

Plan to return

We had a whirlpool quite partner II we bought two years ago. It broke so we purchased this one. Picked it up Monday and used for two days and very disappointed with it. Our previous dishwasher was around a 400 dishwasher this one was around 700. Was not worth the extra money. Supposed to dry better with a stainless steal basin but both times there is water running down the door. Put a plate just used at dinner with WET taco meat sauce on it and it came out dirty. My dishes were always dry and clean with the old one but only lasted two years. Very disappointed with whirlpool appliances and with this dishwasher in particular.

Excellent QUIET dishwasher - very nice

We did a lot of research and had decided on a Samsung, until we saw how many reviews of the Samsungs showed random failures while the Whirlpool average rating was about one full star higher. This unit has lots of features, including a very nice upper rack that is adjustable without having to pull the rack completely out. It is VERY quiet and looks fantastic. The only concern so far has been that some of the silverware still has some foor residue sometimes when the silverward basket is in the door but I've experimented and it seems to be a function of how I load the silverware so I don't think it's an inherent flaw but just part of the learning curve of new equipment. I would definitely recommend this dishwasher or a similar Whirlpool unit.

Built-in-Dishwasher

This dishwasher is wonderful. All the features are wonderful. Sears had a slightly shorter model that fit the space we needed. Our dishes are really, really clean!! Only problem is the handles of my silverware are too large for the silverware support (blue plastic form with slots) for silverware. I've worked around that.

Great Dishwasher

Have only used it a couple of times. Love that I can move the top rack up and down. I have already used that option. Takes a long time but that's okay.
