Love this compactor
We replaced our Kenmore compactor (which was extremely good and lasted many years) with this Whirlpool because it was on a great in-store sale. We moved recently and had to leave the compactor behind, and I have missed it every day. I will be purchasing another one of these as soon as Sears has another fantastic sale. This compactor has many great features, but I especially liked the anti-jam feature. In two years of use, I never had a jam occur. This compactor is strong, too. It crushed the garbage so tightly that by the time the bag needed changed, it was so heavy I could hardly lift it! And I NEVER had an odor problem. It was tightly sealed and never smelled. The push-button mechanism is attractive and sleek. If you choose this compactor you will not be sorry.

Whirlpool Trash Compactor
We have had this compactor for two months and I hate it. Last night it stopped in mid cycle and started smoking. My husband hurried to pull it out and unplug it. Needless to say we have to call the repair department. Our previous compactor was a Kenmore and we loved it. It seemed to be a solidly built unit. This compactor has seemed cheap and tinny from the day we got it. It doesn't even hold half the trash the other compactor did as it does not have the added compact feature. Maybe this one is a lemon as the other reviews have been good. But I certainly would not recommend this product.

The trash thing
This trash compactor works very well and we really need it to save money on trash stickers. Only problem is that it no longer has the things on the side to hold the bag in place.
I would recommend this product to a friend.
