  • The world - the frontier
    The first of the three discrete areas that comprise the game world of Red Dead Redemption is New Austin- the last outpost of the American frontier to be mapped, conquered and settled. New Austin is home to scattered townships and forts - but far form tamed. Savage outlaws and wild animals still roam the open spaces, and wary travelers share the newly cut roads with as many bandits as farmers. Trains and coaches move quickly between the larger towns, but a sidearm is a necessity when traveling by horseback.

    The Best Western game ever made September 16, 2010

    The other reviewers have covered things pretty well, but I'll try to sum everything up. This game is essentially Grand Theft Auto, set in the Wild West. It's completely open world, so you can choose to focus on the main quest, do side quests, or just wonder around for hours on end. The game isn't without it's flaws, but it's definitely the best western game ever made and one of the best games of this year.

    This is one rip roaring gun blazing game. If you have always wished you were Dirty Harry, well this is as close as you're gonna get. Grab a controller and hone your shooting skills and go through the campaign to see if you can claim victory as the best shot.

    This may be the best game I have ever played. It was an awesome concept and was well executed. Nothing can beat riding on a horse through the Wild West gun slinging with villains and lawmen, hunting animals, and roping wild horses. This game is awesome!
