Encourage Them With a Gift of a Battery-Operated Sewing Machine

You've probably heard stories at the Academy Awards from famous costume designers about their humble beginnings, and some of their tales may include making garments using a Singer Zigzag Stitch Sewing Machine. For many, their training began on Mom's or Grandma's sewing machine, and now you can give your child a fully operational version scaled down for easy operation by little ones with tiny fingers and hands. Kids will spend hours intrigued by the tasks of changing spool threads, measuring and cutting fabric and choosing different stitches for assorted sewing projects.

The Battery-Operated Sewing Machine is authentic from top to bottom and looks like a miniature version of the standard Singer model. The machine is self-contained and simple to transport with an easy-grip handle. It includes all the tools needed to measure fabric, spools of thread, on-off switch, foot pedal operation, and tons of storage for incidentals.

Singer Battery Operated Zigzag- Chain stitch sewing machine

I purchased this sewing machine for my niece. She is 7 years old and has been wanting to learn to sew. At first I was nervouse about it, but its actually an awesome tool. Its easy for her to carry, it comes in pink and white. Its cute and it has a needle guard to keep her from hurting herself. Her 3 year old brother loves it too. It has easy to follow instructions and made teaching her to sew a lot of fun.

I would highly recomend this sewing machine for anyone who has a little girl who wants to sew. Its safe, and affordable. Its also very easy to use. My niece is now sewing actual patterns on the machine after just a few weeks. it absolutely beats learning the hard way like I had to with an old expensive hard to use machine.

don't waste your money

I bought this for my 6 yr old daughter. She has been making clothes for her dolls for quite some time now from paper and tape. I thought this would be a nice step up. 1. There is no bobbin, therefore the stitches will not stay in unless you knot them with 2. a plastic needle that is supplied...really? There is nothing about this problem in the discription of the sewing machine. Not to mention that plastic does not easily go through cloth. 3. the pedal is too small and the cord is not long enough. 4. when in use, the sewing machine sounds like it's about to take off and then fall apart. The one nice thing I can say about this sewing machine is that it has a needle guard but since a parent must supervise and get the material out of the machine while trying to maintain the stitches and properly knot the stitches, good Lord.... Needlessly to say, I'm going to try and return this sewing machine.

Is an okay machine to learn on

I bought this machine for my 9 year old son (whom has Autism) because he wanted to learn how to make pillows and blankets for his stuffed animals. It was really easy to set up and he had no problems running the machine. His only qualm was that it was pink and has flowers on it, he said that he would have liked it more if it was blue or even purple. But I just slapped on a few skater stickers and he was happy. All in all this was a pretty decent first sewing machine for young children and he is already asking for a "grown up" Singer sewing machine.

I bought 2 of these for gifts for my children and they were not even able to do 3 or 4 stitches before the thing quit working. They are boxing it up now and going to take it back in the morning. I def would not buy this product. I would save money and buy one that is alot better
