Submersible pumps have many uses. They can bring water up from the ground, help drain it from basements and boats, fill pools and drive water to sprinkler systems. Here are a few of the most popular pumps of this type.

Submersible well pumps are made to fit inside the pipe of an underground well system. With this type of pump, there's no need for a well house or pump room. These pumps are made to fit openings of corresponding sizes; make sure to get the right size for your well-pipe.

If you need to keep water out of your basement, a sump pump makes it easy. Sump pumps can be manually activated or set to run when a water-sensitive switch is triggered. The availability of various motor strengths and construction materials makes it possible to get one that will suit your needs perfectly. These pumps can also be used to drain pools of debris-free water from other locations.

When the water to be moved has debris in it, it's time to pull out a submersible trash pump. These pumps are great for sucking water from creeks and lakes for use in sprinkler systems and other such applications. They can handle water that includes things like dead leaves, rocks, sticks and other such material. They're also good for draining water from construction sites; small chunks of broken cement, random nails and other such things in the water won't be a problem. Choose a trash pump based on the diameter of the debris expected to be in the water and how far the water will need to be sent. Also take note of how many gallons per minute the trash pump can move you'll want more capacity if you need to move a large amount of water quickly.
