    I love the Kenmore Elite electric combo microwave/wall oven January 31, 2011

    I purchased this microwave/wall oven combo in December 2010 to replace a 20 year old combo. It's brushed stainless steel and the styling is beautiful. It is fairly finger print resistant for stainless steel. The microwave has a fan it in so the inside does not get hot. Therefore, spills do not harden on the inner surface. Food does no boil and fly all over the inside of the unit as with my older microwave. I'm impressed with how clean the inside stays as I have 3 teenage boys who use it frequently. Cooking times are comparable to my old microwave. You do have to take care that the microwave door is closed after use as It does not close tightly. After use, a fan runs for a few minutes. If the door is left open, the fan never stops. You also MUST use a white plastic pan that is included when popping microwave popcorn (or bacon). If you don't, it can take 9 minutes to pop. Once you realize this, it's no big deal. The digital clock display is pretty small and difficult to read from more than several feet away; I wish it was larger. There is a cooking guide mounted in the microwave that is very helpful. I've tried sensor cooking where the microwave determines how long to cook something and it worked. Very impressive technology. I am very pleased with the microwave. The oven is great as well. I love the temperature probe that connects to the oven. I've cooked several pork loins and a turkey and it worked beautifully. The meat was very tender and moist. You do have to take care when placing the probe that it is in middle of the meat in the thickest part and not touching the bottom of the pan or you will get an incorrect reading. I've found cooking times to be comparable to my old oven. I would definitely recommend this microwave/oven combo and would purchase it again.

    Convection technology oven is just for marketing purposes November 28, 2010

    the main reason I bought this particular walled combination oven is the size.  I need to replace an old combination oven that is about 22 yrs old.  The dimention of this model comes closest to the one that I replaced (the height).

    - The microwave: takes 50% longer compared to the $130 Panasonic microwave. I use the microwave to boil the water for coffee every morning.  It took the Panasonic 1 minute and 1 minute 30 seconds on this microwave.  It does not cook evenly so some part of the dish is not, while another part is cold.

    - The oven: I used it to convection roast a 15 lbs turkey.  The temp probe was set at 180 F.  The top part is perfect but the bottom part of the turkey is still red.  I believe the reason for this is the oven only has one burner at the top.  so the temperature is not as hot at the bottom.  So the 2 fans inside the oven do not seem to make this oven better the older type oven.  The older ovens have burners at the top and bottom.  And so the temp is the same everywhere.

    We love the look and functionality of this microwave and oven combo. We've been using it a week now and the only thing that I would change is the beeping of the microwave. It beeps 3 LOUD beeps when it's done and keeps beeping like that until you open the oven. I'm used to one remidner beep, so it's a little annoying. Would be nice if you could change the beep settings. Otherwise, we love it and have gotten tons of compliments!

    We do like the outside apparance of this micro/oven, easier to keep clean than a stainless steel refrig. We had a temp. control problem w/first unit, and unit was replaced. We have found the control panel itself much too small to read and very crowded. Too many features to figure out. Poor instruction manual. Convection oven does not bake evenly, and top convection oven does not work at all, just the microwave. We also find the blowing air from the fan on the micro very annoying. Fan runs too long, ie. you warm your coffee 30 sec. and the fan runs 2 min. Fans are loud and long running. (outer cavity fans) We have found it helps to leave the oven door cracked to decrease the running time. I wanted to learn to convection bake and can find no recipe adjustments or instructions anywhere. Even people who use them don't have the needed information. This unit was an upgrade as Sears did not have the unit we wanted. We are very disappointed in this oven/comb. and would NOT recommend anyone buy it. There were no reviews when we bought and wish we had just waited for the model we wanted instead of this poor upgrade?? Posted on May 13, 2012

    While this unit is pretty to look at, and has lots of features, it has one design flaw that makes me wish I hadn't purchased it. The microwave fan produces a gale force wind straight into the face of the operator that can be felt all the way across a very large kitchen. It will literally blow your hair back. I called the technician who said it is working as designed. I hope that Sears comes out with a deflector to direct the wind away from the operators face. Right now there is nothing. Even cheap microwaves don't have such a problem. I would have expected far more from a Kenmore Elite and far more from a unit this expensive. I do not recommend buying this unit.

    My second attempt at writing this.....purchase the maintenance agreement.. I have owned this less than 30 days and I have had a repairman out twice and have a third appt scheduled. The accent light went out...whole front panel needs to be replaced. When the repairman arrived and changed it out, he discovered that the speaker did not work, (worked 15" earlier when I used it). Must have been damaged during examination of changing of panel, now waiting on computer board. What happened to quality workmanship?
