    Pros:
    Design looks cool/modern.
    Cons:
    TERRIBLE steel surface-scratches easily

    My husband was left in charge of selecting all the appliances for our new home.  I was thrilled when I saw the Whirlpool Gold brand, and everything was beautiful.  However, we've had the appliances for about 10 months now and this cooktop has always given me grief.  It is easily scratched upon its steel surface.  The grates are not 'wear resistent'...they do not clean well at all.  I have tons of scratches all over the steel surface.  I've used only 'scratch free' cleaners but even a towel and or paper towel scratches it.  It looks so old already.  Also the grates scratch the surface a great deal.  I would NOT recommend this unit to anyone.  I am very disappointed with this product.  I feel its design was not well planned out.  The grates are way too harsh and heavy for the stainles steel.  The refridgerator and double oven, in the same material, is also easily scratched up.  I am mortified and totally disappointed - sad to say.
