Get's the job done. December 01, 2009
Having used many circular saws such as this in the past, I find that this saw easily competes with the top name brand competitors. The only flaw I see is that it is a bit loud while operating which I guess is mainly due the the lighweight construction of it. This is nothing that a set of ear plugs can't fix. I would definetely buy this item again!

Craftsman 7-1/4 in. Circular Saw is effective circular saw. November 20, 2011
I use this saw not as much as I like, the reason is it heavy to move around in my small shop. It needs more power, not good hard woods. The price is why I bought this tool and the brand made the difference. If you are cutting alot of soft to medium woods this is the right tool. This is the circular saw when buying your first one or not wanting to spend alot of money.

This is a great tool. It rips and crosscuts with lots of power. It's easy to guide to make straight cuts. I've had other brands, but this is the best.
Mr. Fix itlacks power when cutting 3/4 inch plywood otherwise nice . March 08, 2010
received it as a x-mas gift . light and easy to handle but is under powered for cutting 3/4 plywood with fine plywood blade.
