Let it Snow! Let it Snow! Let it Snow! November 09, 2007
Those are my feelings after I purchased the Craftsman 5.5hp gas snow thrower. With its powerful engine, wide tread tires, and wide mouth make this baby a dream to use! I actually enjoyed dealing with the snow covering my driveway! It handles well and throws the snow powerfully. The only thing I can gripe about is the snow chute control can be difficult at times to reposition, but even that isn't that bad. I recommend this product for anyone who has a large area in need of snow removal, its a time and back saver!!!

If you dont mind it not always working, this it the one!!!! December 23, 2009
I bought this snowblower Christmas eve of 07'. The augers have froze up atleast 5 times, so i have to take a blow dryer to unthaw before it will work again. Finally 2 weeks ago the augers quit again, and this time the blow dryer didnt help. Had to take it to the nearest Sears repair center about an hour away. They told me i would get it back within 2 weeks. A week and a half later they left a message saying the gear box for the augers went out and they will have to order parts. A total of 3 weeks and i finally get it back. I know of a few more people that have had the same problems with the augers with their Craftsman snowblower. It also will never pull start unless the engine is warmed up. I dont recommend buying a Craftsman snowblower, because of the performance, plus the service you get when, and it will, break down.

The snowthrower that couldn't December 10, 2008
This snow thrower only worked well the first year, then impossible to start. stay away from this thing. Fixed it by buying one with a Honda engine.
Buyers Beware April 14, 2008
In a nut shell! This product and the others made by the same company from the 5.5HP to the 9.0HP are not worth the money. This product is of very poor of craftsmanship and lacks power. I bought mine in 12/06 and it never worked once. FOUR replacement snow throwers later and I still do not have a snow thrower that works. Sears insisted I use my protection plan I purchased and could not return it, even for a store credit. Sears service could never fix it. I had to pay an outside party to remove the snow from my drive. Sears even held the money I paid for it ($949.00) and said when they get another one next year they would give me another. And that's after they picked up the 4th snow thrower and left me with nothing and no guaranty in writing, only their word. Buyers beware and read your protection agreement very carefully in full before agreeing to and paying for this service. It has been nothing but a nightmare since my purchase.
The best bang for your buck November 29, 2007
This snow thrower is awsome. I live in Maine where the winters are not the worst in the world but harsh enough. I enjoy the easy and quick start. It has never bogged down on the heaviest of snow storms. I strong recommend this product. If you can get the encloser do so it helps in the blowing of snow on you.
