Craftsman  42–46 In. Cut 2-Bin Bagger

it was very easy to put together and seems to work well. but it small and needs to be cleaned out very frequently but makes my yard look great and no clippings in the house

Had to modify placement of hole on plastic chute (rubber strap from tube extension) during assembly for my tractor (LT series). Chute clogs if grass is too wet. Bags fill quickly if grass is tall, but no other bagger would fit my tractor.

I know the bagger model is under the hood of my tractor but, I was told to get the wrong bagger by Parts Direct and upon doing extensive research I found out this is the correct bagger for any 247.XXXXX. I wanted the hard bagger but it was not made for my tractor 247.2881. I returned the wrong one and got a floor model for 1/3rd the cost of a new one. I was certain something was missing but, after following the directions to a tee, I had all the parts put together and began mowing. I love it and works as it is supposed to. The only down fall is, you have to keep an eye on the bags. If they get too full then the chute plugs up. This doesnt have any indicator to tell you when it's getting full. As far as getting grass blown all over you doesn't happen if you follow the directions.

They are mesh and are not going to past very long. Very flimsy.I have always had hard bags in the past along with a spinner that stops when they are full. This does not.

After reading all the reviews on the baggers I decided on the 3 bag bagger. The Sears salesman advised me that one would not fit my mower. My mower is less than a year old and Sears changed manufactures and the bagger was made for the older model, so I had to settle on the 2 bag model. It was a little difficult to assemble and I had to do some modifications to the mower to get it to fit properly. After assembly I mowed my yard (1 acre) and it did an amazing job. I couldn't be happier. I have several trees that have these gum balls that fall in the winter and cover my entire yard so it takes me days to rake my yard. With the bagger it only took less than an hour. The only problem I've found was that bags fill up very fast and much of your time is spent emptying them, but other than that I would definitely recommend this product.

Instructions for putting the Bagger together were very good, but it would require someone with mechanical experience and previous exposure to putting equipment together to satisfactorily accomplish the installation.

My opinions on this bagger are based on my possession of the 3 bagger for my previous mower. This one is very cheaply made. I am a mechanic. This was not easily put together. Directions are terrible. (the 3 bagger came assembled.) I will be amazed if the connections between the pieces last more than a couple of years - tiny screws in plastic. The Sears/Craftsman brand is NOT what it used to be. IMHO

It says that it will fit a 42" - 46", but it does not. Don't buy it if you own a 42" 21 HP Craftsman Lawnmower. Buy the bagger specifically for the 42". Had to return this one after 1.5 hours of trying fit this thing to my machine. Called customer service and they let me know that this bagger is mis-labeled.
