Disney Cars Valance July 29, 2009
I recently redecorated my 4 yr old sons room to the Disney Cars theme. I was looking online for the Cars Valances, and none of them really appealed to me like this one did. I went to the local Kmart and found these there and a bonus, they were on sale and had 2 left which was exactly what I needed. These are so adorable, the pictures do it no justice! They are well made with canvas, and the cars are on a different piece of material that feels like polyester. The details are only on the front of the valance, the back is not detailed. So if you are looking for a 2 sided valance, this is not it, unless you sew them together. The package says to machine wash, but the website here says dry clean only! So anyone who is looking to buy these, and judging from a previous review that said they washed theirs and the colors bled, I'd say the dry clean applies. I couldn't wait to get home and put these up. I did have to sew along the top, in the pictures it shows a little gathering along the top, but the way these are stitched is for a wide rod, and mine are the smaller ones..no biggie if you're handy with a sewing machine and wanted that gathering along the top. I am very pleased with these and they really finish off his Cars room! I am loving these Cars valances, and my son especially loves them in his new Cars room!

Be careful of washing these valances. I washed according to instructions;cold water, delicate cycle, with woolite even and blue faded in spots all over the white. Not as nice once washed. The colors and style are very cute though, so we might keep them hoping it's not noticable when hung up.

We love the valence, but just wish it came in wider widths! We will have to buy two and have them professionally cut and sewn together for the right width. Your child will love the valence. We bought the Cars pack of wall decals from ****** to match the valence and our son's room looks terrific.
