Sub Standard Materials! When I was looking for a swing set for my Grandson I came across the below listed review on the Sears web site. I thought to myself this must just be that one customer that you will never satisfied because they were very negative about the wood being subpar. I noted that there was only one review and after all we purchase a lot of stuff from Sears and so far have not had any issues with the quality of the products before. Well after picking up the swing set I put it together and I noted that the wood supplied was sub standard and I was concerned. Then came the first time of use when my grandson got onto the swing and then the 2 X 3 main support broke! Lucky for the manufacture that Isaiah was not injured! I kept that board and I am still a little angry about the incident. The manufacture supplied a main support board with a huge knot on the center causing a weak point. I went to ***** and purchased a replacement board and cut it to the pattern of the board that snapped in two. I went over the whole set again and so far it?s been ok. Sears please take note that you need to take care of the consumer to be a successful business in retail! That is done by offering great products that are of excellent quality and pose no danger due to structure issues. Now that you know there may be an issue with the quality of this product I hope that you contact this manufacture and avoid possible litigation. //// Previous review The sportspower rocking horse swing not exactly what I expected. May 13, 2011 By WinchesterVAmom of Winchester, VA See all of this author's reviews Pros: Great for smaller kids. Cons: Not for older kids. After searching for several weeks I decided to go with this swingset. For the money, it looked like a descent swingset. While we were putting it together some of the boards were already splintered. I thought the boards would be a little better quality. In the description it does not state that this swingset is for children ages 3 to 8, only on a board on top of the swingset. I have a 10 & 12 year old and it does seem a bit small for them. I am a childcare provider, and I think the children I watch will get more use out of it then my own children. I am going to polyurethane the boards so hopefully I will get quite a few years out of it.
