The Kenmore 33029 50-gallon residential natural gas water heater is energy-efficient with foam insulation, and has a cobalt blue Ultra Coat™ glass-lined tank with a large anode rod to protect the tank from corrosion. It also includes the self-cleaning RotoSwirl cold water inlet tube which reduces and protects against mineral buildup in the tank.
A 50-gallon natural gas water heater is the minimum recommended size for a 5 or more person household with typical water use.

so far, so good
I was a bit hesitant considering reviews I've read on other sites regarding Kenmore Water Heaters but after more research it seems as though all water heaters have pretty bad reviews whether it be Whirlpool, GE or Kenmore. I decided by price and 12 year warranty that Kenmore was worth the try.. So far,so good. It's only been a few days, but it started right up. I added a recirculating pump with timer on the top and am happy that I have hot water at the farthest point in my house almost instantly.

After being transferred last night and hung up on twice i called Richardson Sq Sears directly. Manager Jonathon was terrific. This morning Repair calls and unit is in year 6 of 12 year warranty. Sears wants $409.97 to install the water heater that is free since it is under warranty. WHAT ****. And I can call another number tomorrow to discuss a claim for my flooded home.

I bought this in June 2012. It is now the end of November 2012 and I need to replace the thermostat. It better be covered by the warranty. The part is $171.49.

Easy to install and start up
The hook up was a snap and it started right away by following the easy to use directions. Only down size was that the water heater had a dent in the rear of it after opening the box. Cosmetic only but it should not happen and it should be boxed better and employees be trained better in handling.
I would recommend this product to a friend.
