Have confidence in metal contained tea light candles October 22, 2010

Every year about Halloween I buy 5 to 10 packages of CKK tea light candles to last the entire winter season.

In our home I use a lot of red in our decor of western chic. During winter I drop the tea light candles into red glass votives for mood. I made a display with several red glass votives set at differing heights mixed in with antlers and spurs and such in our dining room which can be seen from the kitchen, dining room, living room and front door. Oil paintings on the wall also have deep red making the whole display quite striking.

At the end of the hallway at the other end of the house another display sets on a birchbark shelf.

These tealights have always given perfect performance. They will burn roughly five hours and I often change them to new ones a couple times during the day as they expire. Tea lights are contained in a tin and I have never had one melt or distort in any fashion. This tin placed inside a taller glass votive gives confidence that once lit you can enjoy and forget it without worry.

In times of power loss a half dozen or more tea lights can create warmth inside a bathroom or wherever needed as well as light a path for your convenience.

Inexpensive for a large quantity and long burning to create mood, a tea light has many uses and benefits and comes highly recommended.

    Terrible candles January 18, 2009

These candles burn about 1/3 down at most before they go out and cannot be relit. They sit there with almost all their wax in them and are utterly useless. I have a lot of experience with these candles, and if they're the same ones Kmart has always carried, then the maker (in Thailand) has changed something because they used to be pretty good. Now they're awful, a huge waste of money, very annoying. Even when it seems there's plenty of wick left, along with most of the wax, they cannot be re-lit once they've gone out on their own. Candle-making isn't rocket science, so they're doing something to cheapen the manufacture so much that the candles don't burn. What's more, you cannot email the importer. Don't buy these candles!

    Turned into a mini-tea light "sterno". December 04, 2011
By PeggyTayloe-Ruff of Saint Charles, MO

I have purchased 2 bags now, and there will me no more bought for this home. Out of the 1st bag, one did turn into a little metal bowl of lit wax, just like a 'sterno' fuel source used on buffets to warm those trays of food. Luckily it was in an open glass bowl with a rock lined bottom, so no big deal. But the incident from the 2nd bag turned way worse. It was in a wax warmer-with a cup-like bottom, and a dish on top to hold the wax. The bottom cup was engulfed in flames that whipped up and around the warmer plate, catching the wax there on fire as well. I ended up w/ golf ball sized blister. Yes, my own stupidity to have 'moved' the warmer while on fire, but the "sterno-tea light candle" was the culprit that started the fiasco to begin with. This happened from both bags- both candles were in draft free areas (the 2nd one was in a 'cup', & well protected from drafts)- PLEASE BE CAREFUL WITH THIS SPECIFIC TEA LIGHT---I ALMOST LOST MY HOME!

Wonderful tea light candles April 11, 2010
    By csnet of Petaluma, CA

We have not had any of the problems Bill reported in his comment.  All the candles have burned until there was almost no more wax left as seen in the photo with this message. I wonder if Bill got a bad batch?

We received 300 of these candles in November 2009, having ordered them before, and we will be re-ordering another 300 soon.  Compared to prices at the grocery store, these are a very good buy.
