For indoor use only. I had this thing squared, leveled, and bolted into a concrete pool patio. Looked great for a day. Don't blow on it, it will fall over. The box it came in is sturdier.

My Counrty Living Curved Steel Pergola arrived yesterday.  I couldn't wait to assemble it on our deck, which has direct sunlight all day long.  After reading the assembly instructions I tackled the various sub-assemblies with no trouble at all.  I read in previous reviews how some screws were difficult to start so I had a thread tap handy and only had to use it on the 4 foot plates.  The assembly was easier than I had expected. I enlisted the help of my son-in-law to complete the final assembly. We did need another couple of hands to steady the posts while we mounted the top frame.  In about 2 hours total time we were sitting under our new pergola.

Tips: When assembling the top frame to the posts tighten the screws hand tight until all the top frame screws are started, then go around and fully tighten all screws. This made alignment a breeze. Using the thread tap on the foot plates solved the problem of not being able to start and tighten the screws. The thickness of the paint definately made it difficult to get the screw started. Last, be sure to fasten the unit to the ground. We screwed ours directly to the deck. We live in the Northeast so I am curious to see how it fares over the winter, as I intend to leave the frame up. Based on the quality of the unit I expect no problem.

All in all we are extremely pleased with the quality and look of the pergola, and consider it a great value.  It took about a month and a half of diligence to get it ordered from the website (not in stock for delivery), but well worth the patience.

After much anxiety and worry about what type of structure to put on my deck for shade and privacy, I selected the Country Living Pergola.  Now that it's put together, I love it up there.  The extra privacy it gives makes it seem like I have a room outside instead of just a deck.  I've hung a mirror on it and a few lights, put flowering plants around and tables and seating.  It looks really cute.  The only cons I have so far is that during installation it actually was difficult with just two people for a moment when we had the two sides put together and we were trying to attach a crossbar.  A wind came up and both sides ended up falling over which was pretty scary since the structure was heavy.  We ended up getting a bit of it twisted because one piece landed on an open umbrella.  Once it was assembled though, it was great.  Second problem I have is that the weights have rubbed against the corner posts because they have moved slightly with the wind I'm guessing.  This will be fixed once I nail the structure to the deck, but it's something to keep in mind when you put it up.  Because of the rubbing (in only one day) I've lost the finish on the metal in those areas.  Otherwise, for the money and style - I did compare with other options - I think this is the best thing I've added to my deck.  I've been sitting with sun beaming down on me for years and the umbrella just didn't cut it. We'll see how it fares through winter up here.  But for now, I'm just thrilled.
