Great gate for the price
I have 2 of these gates and after 3 kids they still work great. I would not put them at the top of steps because it isn't that secure. But if blocking access to rooms it is great! I had steps leading up to my apartment (inside) and I used it to block the landing instead of directly over the top step. Safety 1st does make a gate that anchors into the wall and it uses a step to release the lock, not easy for small children to use which was a bonus. I used that gate to block access to my kitchen, since we are in and out the step release helped a lot, so I didn't have to climb over everytime.
I would recommend this product to a friend.
