Archos  Arnova 8 G3 Tablet

It freezes from time to time, other than that it can be somewhat useful.

I bought this June 28 and waited 'till now to rate it, because the learning curve is lonnnng and I didn't even know what an app. was then.  When it came in the mail, I immediately plugged it in and tried to play with it. All sorts of quire things happened and wouldn't stay on, and I even tried the reset button. Finally I gave up and let it charge overnight. Yea, next day it worked just fine. Thumbing through the instructions, top of first page it says, "Before using your Arnova for the first time, COMPLETELY CHARGE THE BATTERY".  May be a lot of perfectly good tablets are going back, because people don't read the instructions. Speed wise this single core running at 1000 MHZ is adaquate for me. If you have a need for speed, buy the quad core Nexus from Google, but it is only 7 inches. I love the light weight and portabability, so it can go anywhere in my house or out in the deck. I can open news, email, or facebook just like on my desktop. The 8 inch screen has beautiful colors and I'm very discerning, because I am a photo buff. It has lots more features I can't comment on, because I'm not a computer geek. I just know I will be constantly learning more to do with my tablet, for years to come. A note of caution: Don't ever drop it! I'm sure something would mess up, that is not covered in the 1 yr, warranty.

I just bought this tablet last night...same issues as the other 2 reviews! Loops into "Arnova", calibration, and then pressing "ok" button has no response- as if I am not touching the screen at all.  I have reset it numerous times...same results.  I did the 'factory reset' procedure on the Arnova site- got a picture of an Android robot with a ! sign on it...then went back into loop. One time I got a desktop screen, but it had a lock on it! This was a factory sealed box.  Reviews for this tablet on line on other sites were good. I don't get it. This was the last one in the store.  I'm returning it...may try another Kmart, but from the reviews here, I'm not too confident.  I'm afraid to buy on line from a site in case I have the same problem...returning would be more of a pain than going back to a store :(

Unit comes on all right . Never had a lock upproblem. It is very slow. Internet loads ,but takes for ever and I,m on a cable connection. The selection of apps is not there. Over all get what you pay for

I am very disappointed in this product, i had it charging for seven hours and when i was ready to use the arnova 8, all it did was turn on and off and the touch screen didnt work i returned it and got the same one and it did the exact same thing!!!

I bought one yesterday and the screen kept re calibrating and then shutting down and restarting,so I returned that one and exchanged it for another one and it is doing the same thing,it is a waste of time and money I will be returning this one and getting my money back
