Worth every penny November 24, 2010
My daughter wanted to be able to watch TV / movies in her room when the livingroom TV was being used for other programing. She had a TV with cable in her room, but she wanted more. So we got her a Magnavox DVD Recorder & amp 4-Head Hi-Fi VCR Combo. It was worth every penny for the Peace and Quiet it brought to our family

Magnavox DVD recorder / VCR 1080p combo could be better September 27, 2010
I've never been a fan of Magnavox so I'm not sure why I even bought this. I think I was willing to give them another try.. It worked great for about 6 months and now we're having some issues with it. The price may be tempting but do your research before you end up with a headache like I did.

Do not get this! January 06, 2012
Pros:
Copies VHS to DVDCons:
Poor compatability with common blank DVD,Audio out not good to home theatresGot this to replace DVD/VHS combo from home theatre that wouldn't play VHS anymore. I thought: "Great. Now I can record onto DVD and transfer my family videos to DVD. it won't work with all blank DVDs. You need specific ones that are damn near impossible to find. It has no tuner, nor an hdmi input, so my 1080hd video camera has to use a plain yellow input. The coax digital output won't work with my home theatre receiver, and there is no analog output except right or left. Also magnavox is not the service people for this. They just let some other company mess up their name. VERY FRUSTRATING PRODUCT. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH IT.
Awesome device December 28, 2011
Pros:
Copies VHS to DVDCons:
Could use a better interfaceI purchased this unit for Christmas 2011 and immediately began to copy my VHS tapes over to DVD. Some tapes were 23 years old. Some videos of my kids would not show on my VHS player and I thought they were lost forever. But with this player / recorder, I was able to copy those lost videos onto the DVD disc. Video quality is just like the original tape and sometimes, the DVD playback looks better while technically I know that's not possible. This unit is great. Lots of features, reading of the manual is a MUST. I went through two DVD's before I got it right but since then it's been a joy to use. Really happy with the unit. It could use a better interface so plan on some practice DVD's but it's worth the effort. I saw similar units for almost twice the price. I bought mine to specifically transfer my videos to DVD and as a DVD player for the bedroom.
Magnavox DVD Recorder & 4-head VCR Combo December 22, 2011
Pros:
DVD and VCR combo a plusCons:
noneGreat for the price. We wanted something to copy our VHS tapes to DVD since you can't find just a VHS player anymore. I didn't realize we could copy both ways. Just an extra benefit. We hoped it would improve the quality of the VHS tape but it seems to have the same quality on the DVD.
