Great Buy!! Solid system and online network. November 16, 2009

For any xbox 360 fan this is the product to buy! More bang for your buck than any previous SKU ever released. The only down side is that it doesnt come with an HDMI cable so you will have to buy your own. This console is running one of the new chipsets which allows it to run cooler and a big HDD so you can store numerous games on it. This will also allow your xbox to run quiter and run more efficent. Highly recommened for any fan and newcomers alike.

Buyer beware! Enough defects to keep away even dedicated gamers! November 22, 2009

I had an XBox 360 that had hardware defects. It would keep freezing after about 5 minutes of power on time. It would constantly and randomly boot me out of a 360 game with some "Initializing" error. After enough of these incoveniences I returned it.

I tried again when I got a 2nd XBox 360, and the same exact problems happened, no less than before. I returned that one also, but couldn't return the opened games, most being $60 per game. I called Microsoft support and they hung-up on me and wouldn't help.

I now have a PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2 Slim, PlayStation Portable 3000-series, Wii, Nintendo DSi, iMac/Macbook with Windows 7 / Snow Leopard, and they all work much reliably than XBox 360.

Study had shown that the Red Ring of Death "RRoD" error has reached the 54.2% of all XBox 360 units, this excludes all other errors like the ones I had.

The 3-year warranty currently for XBox 360's ONLY covers "RRoD" errors, no others.

The online gameplay is not free.

The system uses previous generation style disc trays and memory cards, the disc trays getting jammed many times.

There is a "killswitch" in the XBox 360, if you run any homebrew games on 360 Microsoft can signal your XBox 360 to self-terminate and not work anymore, using XBox LIVE.

There is no included HDMI cable.

Some firmwares "brick" the XBox 360's.

The corded controllers have that inconvenient "in-line release" of the original XBox.

XBox 360 does not support mouse/keyboard.

XBox 360 does not support USB microphones, and does not have a standard microphone (non headset) included or buyable, making gaming with online chat non user friendly for people with skin conditions. XBox 360 has no Push-To-Talk "PTT".

XBox 360 has no Blu-ray or full high-defination support. No SD Card or Memory Stick support.

The graphics look dated and the sound needs improvement.

The selection of XBox 360 games is poor, lack of RPG's and epic games, no shooters with mouse+keyboard support, lack of exclusive titles.
