Samsung pn43e450a is a great tv for the price
I ended up with this tv by default. My 5 year old Toshiba 42" DLP set was unable to be repaired after its color wheel went out for the second time. So Sears gave me a $550 in store credit to buy another tv. Initially, I was very unhappy with Sear's decision as I felt that I wouldn't be able to buy a tv for that price that would have as could a picture as the Toshiba. When I went to the store my choices were limited to either this Samsung ($450), a 40" Samsung LCD (1080p, 60hz, $550), or a 40" Sony LCD tv (1080p, 60hz, $550). Although in the store this set had the less attractive picture because I love to watch sports and I knew of the motion blur issue with 60hz LCD tv's and the dead pixel issue I chose this Samsung plasma. Once I got it home I was so pleasantly surprised to see that the picture looked incredible. I have had it for 5 days now and am very happy with it. The picture is better than the one on my dead Toshiba and although it is an entry level tv it has both a screen saver (user adjustable for time to start) and also pixel shift technology to help prevent screen burn in (a major issue with plasmas). I have a home theater sound system so I have no idea how this tv's speakers sound which is a complaint that I've seen in other reviews. But the picture is stunning for me and I am very happy with the tv. Although plasmas are not as bright as LCD's for me this is not an issue but if you need to put your tv in a very bright room an LCD would probably be the better choice. I still have $100 in store credit which I will use to apply against the $169 3 year extended warranty I intend to buy. Never, ever buy a big screen tv without the extended warranty. You cannot afford to repair one if it goes out after the one year manufacturer's warranty expires. Because I had a Sear's Master Protection plan, five years after I bought my Toshiba I now have a new, beautiful tv with 4 years of warranty and I'll be out of pocket about $70. If only Sears hadn't taken 39 days to finally give me the store credit I would be totally delighted. Having to be without a tv for 39 days is not my idea of good customer warranty service. Sears needs to address some issues with their process for fulfilling their warranties. But in the end all is good as I just absolutely love this tv!

If you are into Radio as if a CB operator or Ham Radio operator then stay away from this TV! I plugged it in and it covered up anything thing I could receive on my radios. It made so much noise I will have to take it back in the morning. It was a good buy at $399 but is so noisy it was only plugged in for two minutes before I put it back in the box. Now I have an upset XLY and have to deal with that for the rest of the night. I hope SEARS will not do me wrong and take it back for something else. This thing has caused me enough problems at home and was never in use. I'll be looking at LED/LCD TV's for now on!

Bought this for the bedroom...love it! Picture is great, and price is right. Personally, I think the picture looks better than a lot of the more expensive LEDs I've seen. Give it a try if you want a no frills inexpensive TV.

If you are into Radio as if a CB operator or Ham Radio operator then stay away from this TV! I plugged it in and it covered up anything thing I could receive on my radios. This is a nice tv, clear picture and has energy saving mode which is cool. I love the usb port, i can download stuff on my usb and watch it directly on the tv.

Incredible TV For The Price

I am so impressed with this tv. Wonderful vivd lifelike reproduction for less than $400. Hard to believe you can get a tv this good for the price. I first bought a LG 47 inch LED 1080P, took it back and this tv blew it away. Buy this tv, you will be happy. Sounds pretty good too.

Nice tv overall

I decided to buy a this plasma tv because for the size it was the best price with a good name brand. Im very happy with the picture and sound after adjusting it somewhat. Setup was pretty easy too. You can see the picture for just about any angle, i dont think it is blurry at all. Sound is good even at a low level especially when u put the sound on MUSIC or MOVIE. I would recommend this tv.

SUPERB picture - not enough inputs

I'm a DIEHARD plasma fan, especially now since the curse of high energy consumption has been conquered. And, plasma is a BARGAIN compared to LCD / LED. This one is no exception, and I'd give it five stars but for the fact that it has very few INPUTS for gaming, connection to a PC, VCR, DVD, Blue Ray, etc.

I would recommend this product to a friend.
