After looking in several furniture stores with no luck I found and purchased this cabinet online. I have had shelves in the past to store DVDs but since they were open, dust collects and it becomes very difficult to get the DVD cases clean unless you are prepared to dust each one individually! ( Given I have about 300 DVDs that is not an option). This is a closed cabinet and solves the problem. Assembly is pretty easy ( ~2 hrs effort). All parts were aligned well ( including doors) and holes drilled which was great. Final assembled cabinet looks beautiful and like it was purchased from an expensive furniture store for $500 which is probably what I would have been willing to pay if I saw it assembled during my search. The Oak Finish matches perfectly with my staircase railing. This unit is also 61" high so it makes an efficient use of space as I noticed many of the other cabinets here are only 40 inches high which cannot hold as many DVDs in the same footprint. Only problem is I have too many DVDs to fit in the cabinet so I am ordering a second one today! One caution is that when it is empty and both doors are open the weight is front loaded so it could tip forward so be careful. Good idea to put a weight (I used a 35lb barbell) in the bottom until you fill it up with DVDs. Also make sure you have the unit where you want it before you fill it with DVDs as moving it full of DVDs could be an issue, especially if you are just one person and even if you have help, there is still the risk of it breaking or tipping. Once it is full with DVDs the unit is stable ( without the barbell) . To add an extra level of safety to prevent tipping forward when opening the doors I added an extra set of felt pads to the front bottom corners so it leans back slightly with the back one inch from the wall. It's always a good idea to add felt pads to the bottom of furniture which you can pick up in any hardware store. Overall the product exceeds my expectations and I highly recommend it, which is rare for a furniture product, espicially one you have to assemble!

After spending numerous months looking for a media cabinet with doors, I finally found this one online.  It was very easy to assemble and once completed it looked beautifuly.  It looked like it was bought directly from a furniture stoor already built.  My Dad, who never finds anything to his expectation, really liked the cabinet.  It is very well built and is sturdy on the tile floor.  I added the slides to the bottom so that it would easily move and the bottom wouldn't get wet when the floor is mopped.  I am very happy with the cabinet and highly recommend it.  It is great to be able to put away the CD's, DVD's and Video Cassette in an enclosed area (keep the dust out), however, be able to find them easily.
