I bought this vacuum refurbished & I didn't get the pet hair attachment that is on the front of the machine. I've had my vacuum for over 2 years. I am a housecleaner by trade, so I get to use a lot of other people's vacuums & I find my Bissell Lift-Off the best overall. It has great suction & it picks up all the kitty litter from the uncarpeted floors when you turn the brush off. The extension attachments reach my 8-foot ceiling without me having to lift up the machine. The power to the hose is great too--the crevice attachment gets up all the cobwebs in the corners. The 'slid in' feature of the hose attachment is great, though it often comes unlocked & slides back into itself when using vertically. One of the drawbacks is that the way the filter is set up, some dirt/pet hair falls off when emptying the dirt container. I recommend emptying it & pulling the hair off the filter after each use. I only used the lift-off feature once & it was practicall for stairs if you are lackiing in strength as you have to hold it the whole time otherwise it will slide down the stairs. The chord is very long. Another prob is that the upholstry attachment in the rear of the vac will start falling off after a while. The extension attachment isn't too long, therefore getting around tight corners isn't a problem. The dual edge cleaning is great! I don't have to turn the vac around to get edges. And the quick release chord wrap is another great feature. The handle grip is designed just right so as not to cause too much stress on the wrist or palm. The dirt container is kinda small, but like I said, I recommend emptying it after every use so it shouldn't be a prob unless you are dealing with an incredibly dirty area. Another thing I'd like to mention is that I had to take apart the vac for a thorough cleaning--we had a smelly dog & the vac needed to be washed out thoroughly sometimes--& taking the vac apart & putting it together was much easier to do than the other vacs I dealt with. And washing the parts was a breeze--no intricate designs to make cleaning a hassle.

I am very impressed with this vacuum cleaner...very easy to use, lightweight, really cleans up ALL the dirt and pet hair in my carpeting as well as my bare floors. So easy to lift off the portable unit for cleaning my steps and it does an awesome job!

I bought the Bissell Lift-off Multicyclonic Pet Upright Vacuum Cleaner after my Hoover gave out. With five cats who seem to shed year around, I thought this might be good for my home. I also didn't want to have the expense of buying bags as often as I had been.

I've had and used this vacuum twice weekly for five months now and it's working great. It gets so much hair up it's a wonder the cats aren't bald! :)

I empty the cup several times while vacuuming. After each use, I take out the cup and cycone filter part above the cup to quickly wash, rinse and dry before the next use.

It works well on both bare floors and carpet. It's amazing how much dust, hair and lint this vacuum picks up. I lift out canister and use the turbo attachment to do stairs.

Someone mentioned the beater bar being too stiff. It seems hard to push if the carpet level is set too low. Raising it up a notch, makes vacuuming easier.

I'd buy this Bissell again.
