Balanced Perfectly June 07, 2010
Pros:
grip, weight is well balanced, durable blade, still sharpeCons:
cover for blade during storageHaving a durable scraper is essential for anyone living in the NE w/ cement or asphalt around their home. This scraper, which i use for chipping ice of the steps & patio, is balance really well. The blade is still razor sharp after a years use, w/ no rust. I only wish it came w/ some sort of blade cover, for storage. But an old piece of hose split down the middle works well.
My favorite part about this scraper is the grip on the end of the handle. It allows you to power through ice & snow while maintaining a safe stance to avoid injuring yourself. This is another great product by Craftsman that I would recommend to anyone.
This thing is awesome!!! February 01, 2009
I saw my neighbor using one of these after we had a snowfall and then freezing temps. He let us borrow his for a while and I knew right away that we had to get one. This scraper can be used in a vertical chopping-like motion to penetrate ice that you can't seem to get underneath. However, I've found that it works best when you can find an edge to get under and then use it on a slanted motion. Once you're under the ice, this thing scrapes up everything! It truly is a must-have item if you experience snow and freezing temperatures. I don't know how I ever got along without it. The only thing you should consider before buying is how tall the scraper is. I'm 5'6" and this scraper is almost as tall as me (or so it seems). That makes it a little cumbersome to use, but still well worth it. I think they make scrapers that are shorter and have a smaller blade, too. Best to consider all options before purchasing. I didn't realize that when I bought mine, but am still extremely satisfied, none the less.
Must-have winter ice tool January 03, 2009
I bought one of these after seeing my neighbor clean ice off his driveway with one. This is a must-have tool. It is wider than a traditional ice scraper, so it takes a lot less time to use. It's also better at getting under the ice than regular scrapers. After my dad used mine, he asked where I got it so he could get one too. We have lived our entire lives in South Dakota, so you would think we had it all figured out by now. With this tool, maybe we do.
