    I bought this for my nephew for Christmas and he absolutely loved the Hot Wheels. He and his sister spend hours playing with them. When my son was younger we used Hot Wheels as a reward for something that he did well. I will continue to buy Hot Wheels as gifts.

    some generic basic cars too

    Ten packs are a great way to start off a collection.  You get 10 really cool cars, many of which are "early-to-market," which means you'll find them in 10-packs before you can buy them in single packs.  But what makes these really special is the exclusive car that comes one-to-a-pack.  The exclusive car may be a rare paint color, or may even be a rare casting that won't be available in the mainline series for the year.  But it certainly makes these collectible, and of course fun to play with.  Just note that many of the cars are generic and basic, but since you can easily view all 10 cars, you can pick and choose the most desired sets.
