Coleman 62qt. Xtreme Cooler Keeps Its Cool
This Coleman Xtreme Wheeled Cooler is another of our many Coleman camping and picnic treasures. Telling it straight, you will find that ice does melt in this Coleman Xtreme Wheeled Cooler. I did not expect a miracle in its ability to keep ice from melting until some pre-described moment. When camping, I keep the Coleman Extreme resting in the shade when not in use, and make every attempt to roll it back into the shade when the sun continues its journey across the sky. This campsite routine will keep my food cold enough until a trip to a market can be scheduled. This is when I replenish low food supplies and gather more ice. During a typical one week camping trip I have been known to fill the Coleman Xtreme at least twice with ice. This would be the original trip to the campsite and another filling with ice during our stay. I'll pack frozen meats before leaving home and this adds to the longevity of stored ice. I am glad this Coleman Extreme can roll, because it is quite heavy to carry when full. After a couple camping visits and picnic events the wheels and handles are still firmly attached and the drain plug has not fallen off. I'm one of those campers who understands that the experience is all about roughing it. Cozy-Cushy-Comfort is always left at home when we travel to the campsite. Home is where we leave behind the motorized grind of daily living, the microwave cooker's and infrared remote controller's. We leave behind our high-tech, circuit board enriched, digital read-out thermostatic controlled refrigerator, complete with filtered water & ice dispenser and head for the hills where wild critters run free. Coleman...thanks for thinking about the ice melt ratio of our 62qt wheeled Xtreme. For me, a little ice melt is way down on the scale of important things to worry about when I'm camping. I worry more about the Bear's!

DOES NOT HOLD ICE 5 DAYS

I was so excited to get this icechest, mainly because of the expectation that it would hold ice cold for 5 days.  I figured I could pack an icechest a day or two in advance and not have to worry about it being just the way I packed on event day.  I was TOTALLY WRONG!  I'm really shocked at how false this claim is!!  We packed the ice chest with ice and bottled sodas and kept it indoors (about 80 degrees).  One day later, the chest was ~25% water, 75% ice and sodas.  Within two days - same conditions - at least half of the ice had become water.

Great pricing and in store pickup from Sears but Coleman is completely lying with their ice claim.

Thank You= love it. grocery shopping!

Fits well in back of suv. Grocery shopping and farm market food will now stay cold and no hurry home, but enjoy shopping for the cooler is a refrigator. Easy to move from suv and pull along into house.

The 62 Quart Xtreme Wheeled Cooler is good but...

The only thing that would make this slightly better is larger wheels and the ability to support 250 lbs. I've noticed children & adults tend to sit on it in quick fashion. Other than that, it's an excellent cooler.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Excellent quality

I purchased this cooler because we were moving from Colorado to Tennessee and we needed somewhere to store our stuff from the refrigerator. I put ice in it once and put it in the back of the truck and there was still ice when we reached our destination. Very spacious. Will be using later on for camping with my 4 boys.

Terrible for the price.

I purchased to take on a long road trip. Within two days the handle broke, my dad fixed it and within the next week the other handle broke. It did not keep items colder any longer than a cheaper cooler would. I am now attempting to return it. Stick with the $20 coolers as this is a waste of money.

Ice for 5 days, NO WAY

This is one of the most misrepresented pieces of garbage I have purchased in a long time. If I was lucky the ice lasted 20 hours and that is with the cooler being in the shade. The workmanship is terrible. The seams are coming apart and I just got this 4 days ago. Coleman has lost a customer to Igloo.

coleman 62 Quart cooler hold to it's values

we went to 3 days camp, the ice inside barely melted and our food stayed frozen. easily transportable. I bought 4 coolers and I was able to pack it along with another cooler, oven, kitchen stuff and camping gears. Only issue could be, it catches dart at the bottom. You have to clean the bottom before you take it inside the car

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Keeps It Cool

This Coleman ice chest is one of the best around. It keeps the food cold and fresh. The ice stays longer. The wheels are an extra treat so that you won't have to carry the chest around. I would highly recommend this ice chest for anyone camping. Love it.

Perfect family cooler

This is the perfect cooler for my family. Holds a lot and really keeps food cold. The wheels make it easy to move. Good size for the day or a weekend (we also have the larger Coleman Xtreme coolers - without the wheels - for longer trips to the lake, etc). Probably use this cooler more than all of our others - combines the best of all traits needed!

I would recommend this product to a friend.

This cooler can hold up to 4 halibut in excess of 50 lbs each.

I have had this cooler for 5 seasons and it can hold up to 4 halibut in excess of 50 lbs each but the heads and tails stick out the ends which allows the fish to jump back out. Recommend naming one crew to sit on the lid or shoot the halibut first. Had 90 lbders jump out even when women sat on the cooler. Very rugged. Slight separation of liner from outside plastic from dropping it 3 feet onto dock repeatedly with over 200 lbs of fish in it. Wheels and handles have held up to this type of abuse. Kodiak, AK.

Great cooler!

I love this cooler! This is the cooler that goes to all gatherings with me - the large handle and wheel combo on this cooler makes transporting it anywhere very easy. I love that it also has small handles for lifting it in and out of the car. I love the cup holders on the lid - makes it easy to sit on one side of the lid while holding a beverage next to you. The size is perfect for food and drink for a day out. I highly recommend this cooler!

Great Cooler!

I purchased this cooler a couple years ago and was very impressed. After a 5 day trip in the FL Keys, my cooler still had freezing cold icy water. All my beer was still cold! Unfortunately my cooler was stolen shortly later, but I purchased a new one. Still works great!

Love the wheeled cooler by Coleman

The wheeled Coleman Cooler is great for us since there are 8 of us.  We take several coolers and the kids can wheel them.  They seem to hold the ice well and keep things cold.

Love it!

I took this cooler camping this summer, I put one block of ice in it, and one bag of ice. It kept all my food nice and cold over the HOT 2 day trip and when we returned there was still plenty of ice in it. It holds a ton and the wheels ane handle are a really nice addition.I leave this cooler in the back of my truck and use it for when i go shopping for frozen stuff. I am very satisfied with it.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Great Cooler!

This is a great cooler.  It will keep things cool for 5 days depending on your usage.  Yes, ice will melt in it.  The process begins as soon as you put it in the cooler.  Afterall, this is just a cooler not a refrigerator/freezer.  If you open the lid constantly in hot weather, the process will be faster.  But if you leave the lid shut and fill it with ice,  there probably will would be ice in it a week later.  Coleman just spec'd it out to what they felt normal usage would be, and they probably erred on the side of exagerating a little.  After 4 days camping in 90 degree weather, I still had ice in it.

Coleman xtreme cooler

This cooler is one of the best ever made the drinks stay so cold even if it's been left in your car overnight in the heat and it's so durable. I just wish it had a longer handle.
