stunning curtains with a fabulous price-i really loved these and they have pretty decent thermal properties with out compromising the looks of the curtain which is always a nice thing
First off I will say that I live in Puerto Rico where the sun really bears down and it's hard on everything. I'm disabled and I sleep odd hours, so I wanted Eclipse curtains for my bedroom, and since they blocked light so well and much of the heat that radiates through the glass, I eventually purchased them for every window in my house, in different colors of course. I immediately noticed my air conditioner was working more efficiently and I was happy. Now for the not so good part, or the cons! I recently took down the curtains in my bedroom to launder them, according to instructions, cold water etc, and in a high efficiency front loader that tumbles instead of using an agitator that can mangle things. With a year round climate average of 83 degrees, most of us do not even own Dryers, so it was my intention to line dry these, however they had to be discarded after the first and one and only washing, because they were all stuck together and when I tried to pull them apart the backing came off in huge patches. Okay I get it and I understand, because 3 panels were on a side of the house that gets a lot of sun, and obviously the glass just magnified the heat and took it's toll on the backing, however, some panels were on an all metal Florida Louvered window that allows very little light or heat in, and they didn't fair very well either, especially when washed in with the ones that had been exposed to a lot of sunlight and heat. As stated before, I understood. I temporarily hung a brown blanket over the rod for privacy until these went on sale again, because the curtains were ruined and unusable. I knew from past experience that there isn't anything out there to compare for the price, and I often shop online at Kmart and go pick up everything, including groceries etc, so I don't have to walk around the store as that gets to my back real fast. I ordered Espresso 42"x63" thermaback Birgit Rod Pocket panels, and all of them have the proper corresponding SKU #, but they obviously came from different dye lots as some are way darker than the others, so I don't even have enough matching panels for one window, because the hem is way longer on one, so it looked like a buck tooth! Multiple colors and lengths was just too much, so I wrote this review! Sadly, the store in Arecibo Puerto Rico has horribly long lines at the customer service desk that also handles Lottery tickets, Western Union, Layaway and Returns, in addition to Online purchase pickup, so I have to go on off hours to avoid that inconvenience as they never have enough people working that counter. That's another reason I'm writing this review as I've just not felt like going back up there to exchange over half of my last order of Eclipse Curtains! I do have a tip, although it seems redundant, but I think it's going to work and help solve the heat and sun damage problem, hopefully! I also purchased Eclipse Blackout Liners, to help protect the thermaback Eclipse curtains, I'll exchange!

Bought 10 of the Espresso. Awesome deal. Followed the instructions provided, to remove wrinkles if hanging right out of the package and it worked; damp dish towel and dryer on low. I needed brown and that is exactly what they are...perfect plain 'old brown. Not much of a sheen which I like. They don't look cheap either. Yes, I would buy more. "You get what you pay for" doesn't apply here. They're just nice. I hope they wash well when it comes time. Double thumbs-up!

These were recommended to me by a co-worker for my son. I don't know why I didn't buy these a long time ago as they work great for his needs in keeping the bright sun from shining in the east window of his room.
