Versatile and easy to use!
I purchased this about a month ago and just had an opportunity to use it a lot over Thanksgiving. I'm impressed! I used it to chop nuts and blend sauces and it worked like a champ! I also made a delicious coffee drink with it and used the handy "go cup" Brilliant! The multi-blender is so easy to use! Just select the size of cup that you need, fill it, attach one of the chopping lids and put it on the base. Very quick and simple! It feels like you have more hands-on control over the blending or chopping process. The set even includes lids for storage and a shaker top for chopped nuts or grated cheese. Clean up is SO easy -- much better than my old blender. You just wash out the cups, blade top, and lid if you've used one. I highly recommend this multi blender. My son tried it out and said it's better than the magic bullet he used to have and it cost a fraction of the price!

Avoid this product

I had recieved this item as a gift and have had a number of opportunities to try it out. My first qualm with this product is that there is no pulse. As another reviewer had mentioned the instruction booklet states to simply lock the cup into place and apply pressure to control pulse.  The cup will lock into place nicely but the second that it does, it immediately begins to blend. You have to unlock and relock the cup to try to get some action resembling a pulse. Second, It seems to me that if you want to chop things like chicken such as the recipe in the manual suggests for chicken salad, you have to continually remove the cup and shake the contents down to the blade in order to get a finely chopped chicken. This is a MAJOR problem for me and is grossly inconvenient. Compared to my other blender it is below par and simply will not work in my kitchen. I can vouch that it comes with handy accessories such as the thermal travel cup and the shaker top which are nice to have for the price of the product.

Easy to clean, easy to use

I am a single person, cooking most of the time for 1. But i did not know if I would like this "blender." However, it is so easy to use and even greater importance, very easy to clean! I will never go back to the old style! My particular product included the travel coffee/smoothee cup. Great! You prepared your food you want to blend into one of the provided cups, screw on the blades you want to use, invert and put into the base and twist! When you're done, you simply wash the cup and blades/lid. Way easier than those old style blenders with a spout! There is a rubber gasket in the blade lid, which I think could be removed and cleaned, but much easier than the old style blenders. I bought this at the local Kmart.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Broken Tabs

The blender cups have 3 moulded tabs that go into base of blender to switch on the blades. If 1 tab breaks off the cup is worthless. I broke 1 tab off 2 different cups. Dumb idea for a power switch

Does everything the magic bullet does for half the price

Finally, a blender with ********! Okay, just kidding.

I'm a personal trainer and I've had a high protein smoothie for breakfast nearly everyday for the past 4+ years. I have a 5 year old magic bullet that has taken a real beating and needed to be retired - for Xmas I recieved this Gordon Ramsay blender.

I wasn't sure what to expect here and thought perhaps this was a shotty made product with a famous chef's name on it to take advantage of naive shoppers. While I highly doubt you'll see Gordon using these at his famous restaraunts, this is an awesome alternative to the magic bullet.

This comes with both a raised blade for smoothies/liquifying and also a flat blade used more for chopping. 95% of the time I'll be using this machine, I'll be making smoothies.

The bullet can have a tough time with ice and even with frozen bananas (many times I think the shake is done only to find a 1 inch peice of banana floating in it). The ramsay blender seems like it could be more powerful (i know its NEW and I'm used to an older bullet) than the magic bullet and made a great shake (frozen banana, ice, whey protein, natural peanut butter, and spinach - no floating nut peices or spinach leaves to be seen).

After a couple of months of daily usage, my bullet began to lose some steam for sure. I found the unit to become much noiseir and would emit a smell of burning plastic from the base. I can't vouch for the long-term quality of this product, but upon the first few days there certainly is nothing like that.

The base looks nicer than the bullet, in my opinion, since its made of shiny metal (i hesitate to use the word "stainless steel") versus the plastic exeterior of the bullet.

The biggest reason this is better than the bullet (for my usage - mostly smoothies) is the cup it comes with. The bullet I have only came with tubular ugly cups and only had rings to help you drink the smoothly neatly, but no cover. This gordon ramsay blender comes with a great looking high quality double insulated to-go mug with an equally high quality to-go cover. Now I can take my smoothie for the car-ride instead of having to guzzle it before I leave!

For $30, you can't go wrong here. The only reason you would want to get the magic bullet is it comes with many more peices, but if like me you're using this for personal use only, go with the gordon!

I would recommend this product to a friend.

The Gordon Ramsay Everyday 12 Piece Multi Blender is nifty.

After finding this on sale for $18, I couldn't resist the purchase. I needed a blender, and my older blender had bit the bullet, so I took a chance on this item. Quality wise, I've purchased several of Gordon Ramsay's products and I've been impressed by the quality and the price of all of them thus far. I was hoping that this one wouldn't let me down.

After using it for various admittedly light uses (smoothies and hummus), I'm very impressed by this product. It looks great, works well (for something as inexpensive as this) and was priced great. I haven't tested out anything heavier as of yet -- i.e. more solid vegetables or other things one would use in a regular blender, but for my limited use, it's perfect. I haven't noticed the poor quality construction that the other reviewer mentioned.

The only negative is that both the bottom and top, around the red rim, get hot pretty quickly, in a much shorter amount of time than the stated 3 minutes, it's probably more like 1 minute or so. Because of that, I give the machine around 30 seconds to cool off, which isn't that much of an inconvenience.

Overall, I really enjoy this product.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Excellent For Making Homemade Baby Foods

I purchased two of these for my nieces that are new Mommies instead of buying the overpriced 'Baby Bullet'.  Then I bought two Baby Food Cookbooks and they are set up to make inexpensive and nutritious baby foods for their little darlings!!

I would recommend this product to a friend.

the price is good

I decided to purchase this unit based on the price...with a Kmart coupon it went down to $18.  It works well and functions like it is suppose to...Herberger's sells one very similar to this, but even with a coupon its still about $55 so I'm happy with the purchase...

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Lots of noise and not much quality

I'm so on the fence with this unit.  It's got some good qualities and bad.  The significant bad quality is that the cups are supposed to fit into the base in a certain way.  Some bright manager decided to cut costs with the trimming of the plastic, so that although the tabs go in where they should, they are improperly trimmed, which prevents you from being able to 'pulse' your blending.  Doesn't sound like much, but the directions tell you to turn the cup into the base, and the push down to blend.  Supposedly you can push down for as long, or as short as you wish, although the manufacturers recommend resting the unit every 3 minutes.

Well, I got the unit home, unpacked and washed it, put in my stuff, and put the cup on the base in the way the instructions describe.  The thing went off in my hands with no pressure from me.  It took me about 10 seconds to see the problem, but apparently there is no quality control with this, because the lack of tab trimming problem exists on each of the three cups.  Not being able to fully control the grinding or mixing isn't really convenient, and not what I paid for.  And if you are making green juices like I do, and NEED that pulsing action, then this is a pain to keep turning the cups in and out of the lock.  Not all of the greens get pureed if you can't pulse, and you end up with chunks of stuff in your mouth when you are drinking your juice.

Otherwise, I love the design, the look, and the feel of the base.  I had to give it three stars for the design.  It's nice and heavy, which is a plus at home, and a problem if you are travelling.  It's very stable, because the bottom is wider than the top, no matter which cup you are using.   And I really love the size and convenience of it.  Given the quality control problems, I'll have to see how it holds up to a green juice a day habit.  It's too bad, too.  Because it IS so nicely designed, that if they'd put just a bit more attention and quality into it, I'd have paid a few dollars more gladly.  It's sort of like the TV cook on the box cover:  LOTS of noise and not much quality.

The tall cups hold about 20 oz and the small one holds what looks like about a cup (8 oz).  It really is a single serving blender.
