Product Description

Microsoft Halo 3: ODST - Complete package - Xbox 360 - DVD - English

Halo 3: ODST returns players to familiar ground on a vital, top-secret mission. The gripping story, cooperative campaign and multiplayer content will have Halo fans "Preparing to Drop". Originally titled Halo 3: Recon, the game brings the perspective of characters to the Human-Covenant struggle, as it explores the ODST, or Orbital Drop Shock Troopers.

  • ODSTs
Follow the story of the legendary ODSTs or Orbital Drop Shock Troopers as they drop into the ruined city of New Mombasa, looking for clues behind the Covenant's catastrophic attack on the city.
  • A new hero
Prepare to drop. Known for their courage, valor and at times, insanity, Orbital Drop Shock Troopers are among the fiercest UNSC soldiers, priding themselves on being the first unit deployed into hostile situations. While not as large or supernaturally gifted as their Spartan comrades, these Hell Jumpers more than compensate with their ferocious attitudes and unwavering nerve.
  • Multiplayer
All the traditional features of Halo 3 multiplayer will be included in the game, including full-featured integration with the Forge map editor.

ODST not Master Chief?

Ok Halo fans, get ready for life as an ODST soldier and not Master Chief. This is a whole new perspective on things. The first person view is totally different due to the helmet view. As a regular soldier you cannot withstand as much damage as Master Chief, so you have to take cover and play smarter. Overall this is a highly enjoyable game.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

ODST was different but still un

Ive always been a fan of Halo so when ODST came out i had to get it. The graphics are darker and most areas in the game are just dark and yoouo have to use night vision most of the game which i didnt like. the campaign was ok for me but i fell in love with firefight. Good game if youre not big on campaigns.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Decent

The game is not really short. The cinematics are, the difficulty is what makes up the time. The more enemies, the harder it is, the longer you will play, and easier is faster. ODST was rather boring than fun or exciting to play. Rated:3. Maybe it just didn't grow on me. As written on the cover it is a new hero and therefore another game, not like Halo 3. But the fact is that there can't be just one hero. All ODST members are more or less heroes.

I wanted the game to be better, I expected a lot from it, I hoped that many reviewers were wrong, but they were mostly right. It's not the best Halo game out there. You got your chance to play as ODST trooper, but I liked none of the ODST team members from this game. None but silent me, rookie. From all the money that was made from Halo games, they could have done so much better game. ODST is very repetitive. It has tactics that you must use yourself, but basically they all repeat. If they make ODST again, I want it to be fun and exciting. And new members would work best. Since it's a story, if they will suddenly change everything about the members of this ODST group it will be fail as well. I simply do not enjoy those characters. None of them. They seem to me to be boring and uninteresting.

What pissed me off mostly about this game is that when AI's drive, they get stuck so easily. Imagine, a warhog hits a tree, they get stuck for a long time. If there is remains of some machine, the driver will probably unable to get past it. You often need to exit your vehicle, kick the other driver from their vehicle, move it through the obstacles, run after previous vehicle. Oh and the worst about it is that sometimes they turn back and drive the whole way back just to come back to that obstacle or not come back at all. I lost in a very mysterious way a few vehicles. They just disappeared. And on the map, it is not always possible to find them. Soldiers of UNSC are unfairly weak. Just a few shots in them and they turn dead. So no matter what you do, how you try to save them, take all the fire on yourself, they will die and not accompany you. Very weak, extremely weak soldiers. I bet that grunts are stronger than soldiers of UNSC. A few grunts vs. one soldier and I bet the soldier will loose. Yet I still have a hope that 1 soldier vs 1 grunt will be victorious. But that's hopes.

Overall
ODST is a great game but doesn't feel like HALO

HALO: ODST, or Orbital Drop Shock Troopers is yet another chapter in the HALO universe. Set before Halo 3 you play as "The Rookie" the new guy assigned to an elite squad of ODSTs which is given a mission to retake New Mombasa, a city under siege by the alien threat, the covenant.

Right from the start this game sets itself apart from the rest of the Halo games by being nonlinear and almost open world compared to Halo1,2,3 in fact it was so different from the rest of the Halo games I felt as if I wasn't playing HALO at all, and if it was under a different name like ULTRA COOL MARINES OF DEATH PART 8 I really wouldn't know the difference.

That being said HALO: ODST certainly is a great game, but a limited multiplayer and a number of bugs (constantly fell through the ground) keep ODST from being truly great. ODST comes with a HALO 3 multiplayer disc, but the ODST exclusive multiplayer is really lacking, if you do not have friends with the same game you can forgot about playing the online game mod "fire fight" since it doesn't have math making.

Giving this 4 out of 5, good game, but not great.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Almost Two Games In One

HALO ODST Comes with a whole new campaign and a new multiplayer mode called firefight but where I got most of my enjoyment was from the 2nd disc.

On the 2nd disc you get Halo 3's Multiplayer and all of the downloaded maps. You are able to play cross-game with your friends who have halo 3 and even earn achievements for halo 3 seperately.

If you are a multiplayer fan and always wanted halo 3 but didn't want to buy all of the maps, this game is a must for you!

The one downside is that ODST itself comes with little multiplayer, firefight mainly.

Still worth the price for the 2nd disc alone in my opinion!

Campaign is boring but the Multiplayer Disc is fun.

The campaign in this game is very boring in my opinion. I liked Halo, Halo 2, and Halo 3's campaign better than this. The only good thing about this game is that it comes with a Halo 3 Multiplayer disc with a couple new maps. I found myself only buying this game for the Multiplayer disc. It also has firefight, which is fun at first. But after a couple of plays it got boring to me also. The multiplayer disc is where it's at!

I would recommend this product to a friend.

This is the game that got me into Halo

I've never been a fan of the Halo series. I played and disliked all 3 games of the original Halo trilogy. When ODST came out, I decided to give it a try. Finally, you're not some genetically engineered super-soldier who can single handily destroy armies. You're a member of the an elite Orbital Drop Shock Troopers squad and you're on your own in an enemy-occupied city. The game has a great story-telling method, hoping back and forth showing the fate of your squad-mates. As a bonus, you do get the entire Halo 3 Multiplayer experience, so you've got all the DLC out of the box.
