We love the Vortex April 13, 2012
    via user
    By mikeyshaf of Henderson, Colorado

My little boy loves the nerf guns. I'm a little embarassed to say it but so do I. We always have a great time running around the house and shooting at each other. The great thing about the Vortex is that it has disks instead of darts. We don't have to worry as much about accidently getting shot in the face, or more specifically, the eyes. The second great thing is that the disks fly like a frisbee and will generally fly further than the darts. What we like best is that we are more inclined to use the Vortex outside. The disks tend to be less affected by a little wind. More importantly, they are usually easier to find. I have been tempted to buy one for myself because my little boy keeps winning the battles with his Vortex. Another benefit is that the disks seem to be more durable, and less prone to breakage than the darts. Because it is electric it is easier to do rapid firing. Maybe the best benefit of the Vortex over the other nerf guns is that the disks are easier to load than the darts. We are not constantly stopping to load, but when we do, it takes less time. I'm not bashing the darts, we still love playing with them. All in all there is nothing negative that I have to say about this product, except that I need one to level the playing field between me and my little boy. I am tired of losing our battles because I have to use the slower dart gun.

    Pros:
    20 rounds.,Easy to assemble,well made shoots a good distance
    Cons:
Limited ammo capasity..,Needs lots of batteries

Bought two of these guns. One for myself and one for my son. That way I can actually shoot him back. They are pretty nice. Has a scope on it that lights up. And can empty a clip pretty quick with it being full auto.

Great shooting fun for older kids and adults. December 29, 2011

    Pros:
well made shoots a good distance
    Cons:
    Limited ammo capasity..

This is a very well made Nerf rifle. Nothing to build out of the box fun.(you will need to install 6 C-size batteries and two AAA in the scope that does nothing but light up in the scope so only for looks) The new disk system is great, shoots a little to the right but a good distance. This is an eclectic full auto with a two trigger firing system, the lower trigger engages the motor the higher trigger fires your dart witch may give younger kids a problem holding down two triggers at the same time ( my six year old figured it out in about ten minutes)the rate of fire is slow but fun . Only twenty rounds is your biggest problem with this rifle, you can buy more clips and disks but they are limited to 10 rounds for some reason Nerf loves too make large capacity Clips and drums but not sell them separately. I all so noticed that the rear magazine holder does not really hold a magazine one bump and it falls out my be limited to my gun not sure. One of the biggest complaints I have read about is the price I bought mine on sale at a local supermarket for $29.99 but have seen it as high as $59.99 not worth $59.99 But for $35.00 or less it is great fun for kids and adults alike.

Nerf vortex nitron blaster is a hit! December 28, 2011

By PLUBER of St. Louis, MO
    Pros:
    Easy to assemble
    Cons:
    Needs lots of batteries

This gun made four boys very happy for Christmas. I was skeptical when purchasing but I wasted my time thinking negatively. They loved the guns and played with them all day. FYI, they need a lot of batteries which need to be purchased separately. Great gift!
