The table and chairs are the perfect dimensions and looks great. I had a problem with the chair legs loosing up. We had to tighten up after 60 days. When I contacted the store for a credit, they said I was outside of the return policy.

We are very happy with this purchase. I've been needing a small table with more than 2 chairs. My kitchen is 10' X 11'. This table fits perfectly and 4 chairs make it great. It's made of wood, and is easy to assemble. We had it up in around a few hours, taking our time to put it together. Instructions are easy to understand. This is a very good price for a wood table and 4 chairs. Now all I need is cushions. Get it while it's on sale!

I purchased this table set and love it! The quality is great and looks really nice. Not huge and not small. Perfect for my dining room. I love the fact that its heavy feel and not cheap. I have tile floors so I bought small round felt circles and put them on the bottom legs of the chairs. Slides nicely on my floors. One package of round felt was enough to do all four chairs. I also have a 2 year old and holds up well to messes and crafts. I use swifter dust and shine on my table and so far looks great!

I needed a small kitchen set & didn't want to spend a lot of money, this is perfect. I'm just afraid since its wood it will get scratched & I like the grains on the wood & don't want to cover it, so I am going to have a glass top made.

I purchased this dining set a few days ago after seeing a display model in the store. I?ve been casually on and off looking for many months for a table just to hold me over in my apartment while I look for the perfect house. I?ve been to all the local furniture stores, checked out a lot of online retailers, as well as Craigslist. I wanted something that looked modern, and in a dark color like this. Overall, I?m actually pretty impressed with this for the price. However, I?ve only had this a few days, so I can not comment on its long term durability. This is also the first ?wood? type table I?ve owned. If Kmart lets me, I?ll try and give an update several months from now. I?m an engineer, so I overanalyze everything I buy, and have to view and debate all my options out there. My first in store test was the stability test. I tried shaking and wobbling the table, and to my surprise, it held steady, unlike most of the cheap tables I?ve seen out there. Next was the seat wobble test. I often find that poor quality control leads to the chair legs being of different lengths. Sure enough though, all the chairs wobbled. I thought to myself for a second, and decided this should not be a deal breaker since I would be putting furniture sliders on the bottoms of the legs, and those usually compensate for height differences in the legs. I also have plenty of sanders that I could use to just shave a bit off the taller legs, though I would just have to worry about re-staining the bottoms of the legs. With my final assembled product at home, the chairs are actually pretty stable, and I have uneven hard woods anyhow in my place. My last test was the seat comfort test. I was considering a similar, slightly larger table from an unnamed big Kmart competitor, but I decided on this set since the chairs have a double ?X? back, rather than the competitors cheaper single ?X? back. I?ve leaned back in those chairs with hardly any backs to them, and you definitely feel those gaps! Lastly, the chairs have a nice comfortable curve to the backs. There?s no padding on the seats, but I?m happy with that since one could always add that later, and padding can lead to ?hot seat?. The table does have a very slippery finish on it, and does hold smudges and fingerprints. I?ll most likely end up keeping placements and probably a table cloth on it. One other important thing I liked about this table is that the top is completely solid rather than having grooves in it. Grooves are a VERY bad idea on a table since grime always ends up stuck in them and they?re difficult to clean. Basic assembly was easy and took me about an hour and a half, though for me there was some added time since I needed to go purchase a long Philips bit for my drill, and I wanted the seats to come out decent. I would recommend inspecting everything before assembling the table, and I was nervous there would be parts missing or something would be scratched or damaged since I have bad luck like that, but amazingly enough, everything looked decent. The most difficult part of assembly for me was the last part ? placing the seats on the chairs. For this, you?ll need a thin Phillips screwdriver to drive in the 6 wood screws, or in my case and what I recommend, I used a power drill with a long 6? Phillips bit. I?m happy they didn?t pre-drill any holes because the chair seats were the only part of this set to have their cuts obviously ?guestimated? to an extreme extent. They should have used a computer designed template. Being an engineer and a bit OCD and wanting everything accurate, this was a problem for me. I was left with a debacle of deciding between if I wanted the grain and lines to be facing straight on the chair, a gap between the seat and the back of one side of the chair, and how centered I wanted the seat on the chair. After much playing around, I opted for having the grain and lines in the seats being straight, since letting them be angled would be the most glaring issue. So from there, it was a matter of how much I wanted the seat centered on the chair, and how much gap I would have to leave between the one of the chair bars on the back and the seat. Overall, with a lot of measuring, it came out decent and the ~1/4" gap I had to leave on one side of most of the chairs isn?t too noticeable. For a couple notes on assembly; first definitely make use of the foam packaging while you?re assembling the table if you don?t have carpet to make sure you don?t scratch the table surface while putting the legs on. I?m also saving some of it for when I move. Second, the instructions say to put the seats upside down on top of the table to attach them to the chair. If you do this, make sure you put some of the Styrofoam on the table first. In my case, since I wanted a lot of accuracy, I assembled the chair on the floor. I put a large super heavy narrow object (conveniently it was a box with another piece of furniture I bought) on top of the seats to keep them in place on the chair frame (make sure it?s something that won?t scratch the chairs, or cover it in something). I then put my head under the chair and used a steel ruler as a square to align the lines in the seat with the chair frame to make sure everything was straight. I then did some more measuring on the sides of the seat to the frame (this is also where you?ll notice some large inaccuracies with the cuts), and moved the seat around from the top and bottom repeating the steps several times until it looked good. Then I drove the screws into the seats from underneath with my power drill. As a final note, this set is actually manufactured by Dorel Asia, who also makes furniture for Kmart competitors. I actually purchased something made by them from a competitor on the same day which turned out to be garbage. I guess it?s hit or miss, but I would say that this table is a hit.

Reasonably priced piece of furniture. In todays world of pressed wood furniture, i.e. not solid wood, the quality is surprisingly good. The chair legs are not identical length so the chairs wobble slightly and they do not come with anything to help glide on the floor so bear that in mind when purchasing. The best aspect of this table / chair set is that it is actual nut and bolt construction. These nuts and bolts are used to bolt EVERYTHING together with the expection of the seat bottoms. Everything seems to be very sturdy, however we have not owned it long enough to speak on the durability of the set. overall, very pleased.
