A radical departure from the conventional single fuselage airplane, the Twin Mustang was not, as is commonly believed, two P-51 Mustangs coupled together. It was largely a new aircraft based on the P-51 design with many aerodynamic changes made to achieve greater range at higher speeds. This unique aircraft could be controlled from either cockpit. The pilot had a full array of instruments the co-pilot had relief and emergency instruments. Movable propellers, two figures with opening canopies and open or closed gun compartment. Last prop-driven fighter in the USAF or F-82F, 46-414, 52nd All Weather Group, Mitchell Air Force Base. Molded in light gray and clear. Skill level 2 - intermediate, paint and glue needed but not included. Suitable for ages 10 years old and up.
