Must be kidding.
Easy set-up??! Impossible set-up without at least 2 people. Unless there is a breeze, and then you'd need 4 people. This is one flawed design; structure can not stand by itself without the guide lines. Collapsed 3 times during set-up. We eventually got it to stand up, but the guide lines were everywhere, creating a trip hazard at every corner. We returned it the next day.

Overall
Only of little wind, 2 patient people, or my 1-person hack

This provides a decent square of shade. However, as others have said, it cannot handle much wind - its design means it is too likely something will happen if you get fairly steady wind at maybe 23-25mph or more. To make it easier to set up at the beach, I got heavy sand tent stakes, ran them through a piece of pvc pipe maybe 1.5 inch diameter and 8 inch long, and jammed the canopy pole in the pvc tube with the sand stake. So, I set all 4 poles up by themselves, then put the top on. Then, tied the lines - as others have noted, you really need two per corner. In some 25mph wind, one of the strings broke loose - they are attached to the fabric, not the pole. That let the wind pull wildly at the fabric, and that pulled poles over. Two cracked. So, if you are pretty sure you will not have serious wind, this is great - as long as there are two of you willing to be patient to get the poles set up. you can steal my pvc pipe idea if you want - I did that to be able to set it up myself. That worked well, and I set it up myself within ten minutes, including pounding stakes into sand. At the beach, you get that wind a lot. other camping and outdoor situations might be a lot better. As others have noted, for the square of shade you get, this packs to be very small - even if you have the extra stuff like I had - I fit all of that in the original bag - maybe 2.5 ft long, 5 inch square. Those EZ-up canopies cost more, and take up a lot of space, and they can get hurt in wind, as well. I hope this helps you figure out if it will suit your purposes.

You Get What You Pay For

The canopy is good and light weight for its low price. But one just have to be lucky and get the perfect set. I had to return this canopy three times until I finally got a set with no broken pole or ripped canopy.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Shade Canopy

Great purchase price on sale for $29.  Used while camping for shade in front of tent.  Easy to erect and compact when stowed.  I will be buying one or two more.

nice shade canopy without center pole

I purchased 2 of these last year.  1st one that went on a camping trip had a broken connector on pole and additionally said broken piece put holes in the canopy. Kmart returned for a new one no problem. When I got the replacement, it was a different design with a hook on end of pole vs plastic piece.  Decided to exchange my 2nd one for the new model as clearly metal vs plastic would hold up better.

My husband is able to set them up by himself.  We have no issue with canopy staying up if 2 guide wires on each set of pole securely.  A  trick we have learned is to use a bungee cord attached to guide wire to absorb some of the stress from excessive winds.  We camp on islands at Lake George, NY and the winds can get nasty from storms.  Canopy has never come down in the 40+ days we have camped over the past 2 years. Our old center pole canopy was forever collapsing under the winds.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Crap!

The one I bought was used and one of the poles were broken, but we didn't find this out until we were on vacation trying to put it up. We were able to make a band aid for it and it worked until it got windy and blew over again and again. Not sturdy at all! Returning it today.

Can't be beat for the price.

I bought this to replace my ez-up that bent by the the weight of the water it puddled when it rained.

This canopy looks cheap and it is, but I needed something and if it failed I'd return it for a refund.  It is very light duty but so for it's held up great, even thru rainstorms and thunderstorms but this latest storm must have been too much.  The next morning the canopy was down and it looked like it was trashed by the storm.  The bows were inverted like a wind blown umbrella. However nothing was broken or bent and ?it was easily put back up. ? It looked like one or more of the guy ropes came loose but I'm not sure.

I have put it up by myself but it's not easy and quite frustrating for one person to do but it can be done.  Now I have the kids help and it's pretty simple.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

It flew apart with one small gust of wind!!!

Aloha, my friend and I just needed some shade for our campsite...sound simple, right? So we purchase this for $48 dollars. First of all, the directions were quite vague, so I had to figure out the construction of it myself. It has fiberglass legs with little hooks on the top, the kind like a tent that have the elastic between the sections.

Already unpacking it, one of the four hooks had fallen off. I put it back on and constructed the shade. A little later, whooosh! the thing collapsed! some of the hooks had come flying off of the poles!!!! Duh! The hooks are the ONE CRUCIAL ITEM that cannot fail or it all falls apart... and hence, it did!

So poorly made, they could not even glue the #&%@@ hooks onto the poles?

Dont buy one of these for any price, even at a garage sale for $1 because it doesnt do the one thing it has to do...PROVIDE SHADE!!!!

TAKE IT BACK UNOPENED IF  YOU HAVE ALREADY BOUGHT IT...or it will waste a LOT of your time!

aloha from Kauai, C&A

Great value

This is a very light weight, and compact unit. Was able to set it up with another person in about 20 minutes, and I had never set one up before in my life. For the price you are getting a great canopy, if you want something without ropes to tie down you are going to need to spend more money.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Great for a canopy that packs up small!

We go camping in small vehicles where space is at a premium.  This canopy is as good as it gets in the "fits into a a small car" catagory.  All canopy's of this type have poles that require 2 guy wires per pole.  This always means that it takes two people to set them up, that's it's harder in the wind, and that you have to put bright string or tape on the guy wires so you don't trip on them at night when walking around the canopy.

This canopy has advangates over the other's we have owned.  There is no center pole to try to get adjusted to just the right height.  The fabric is sewn into a dome shape so the water runs right off instead of puddling and then soaking you when you bump the edge of the canopy.  The steel poles are shocked corded together so you don't have to figure out what piece goes with what.

So, if you need a canopy that stores in a small space, this one is the best we have found.

Versatile and Lightweight

If you want an easy-up type canopy this one will frustrate you since it takes a bit of brain work and a modicum of patience to put it up, but can be done by one person even if short (I'm 5'3") in 20 minutes or less. (Just attach all corner poles, but lay them on the ground; then secure all guy lines with a lot of slack and lift one corner pole at a time while adjusting the guy lines.)

If you think outside of the box, so to speak, this awning can be set up four or five different ways because you don't have to attach all the legs. It is tall enough that if you just use two legs you have shade all the way down to the ground in back. You can attach one side to the roof of your car/van for shade coming out of the vehicle on two legs. Or just use one leg and have a triangle type canopy that has protection from both sides. It also works well as designed and you can hang flags or streamers from the lines to keep people from tripping over them—adds a festive look. You can also hang a mosquito net from the poles, add a ground cloth and use it for sleeping.

As described by others it probably won't hold up in a stiff breeze. This is more a tarp with poles than a structure. It packs down to one sixth the weight and size of the structure type canopies, but offers more than meets the eye and is the least expensive option in the sunshade category.

I would recommend this product to a friend.
