Held up in 30 mph winds!
This tent is easy to set up, very spacious and affordable! My family used this tent for the first time on our annual camping trip and the weather was very undesirable. I thought we were gonna lose the tent a couple times but it sustained 30+ mph winds, 2 of the stakes came up but that wasn't surprising at all considering the beating it took. Finding a mid sized tent with a divider isn't easy. This tent had everything we wanted and is good looking as well!

Tent spaciuos but leaks at seams on bottom

I bought this tent on sale. My daughter has the same brand and has no problems. I took my new tent camping and it rained. The rain actually made puddles in the tent on the floor. Everywhere. it was awful Also, I found the zippers to be cheap and would catch on the sides alot. The tent went up easy, but not sure I'd get another one. The good thing is that Kmart took it back, not questions asked. I'm just hsitant to replace it with the same tent.

Problems with this.

I used the stakes that came with this tent.Had a thunderstorm during the night and ended up with the tent on top of me.Recommend better stakes. Because of the winds the tabs on the side to hold the rain cover on pulled off.Was very disappointed with the design. The rain cover should hook onto the rings for the stakes.

Hope it doesn't rain.

Second trip with this tent and we had holes in the fly and in the tent bottom near the pole stakes. Very drafty, unable to seal windows tightly or the blow-out vents at the rear of the tent. It was easy to set up with two people. We would classify this as a warm weather only tent.

Overall
A good family tent for the price!

We bought this tent 3 years ago at k-mart. We camped with it multiple times. It did get a little bit of water seeping in it during heavy rain, no water during light rain ( I use a ground tarp too) the seeping was not as bad as some other tents I had. It took about 15 minutes to put up and wasn't hard, but you need two people. Our dog jumped on the door to get out and ripped a hole in it in the first year. I did sew it and used it again for two more years for weekend camping. Just this year the new puppy jumped up and ripped such a big doggie door in it we had to throw it out. I definitely liked the room and could set up a table and chairs inside of it which was great. I would give it an overall 3 stars but my son gave it four stars. The tent is big and I could not get it back in the bag so I got another bag for the poles separate for storage. This is an acceptable tent for camping with young kids. We did have a lot of fun n it!

Nice tent

Nice tent. Very roomy and spacious. Setup with two people took five minutes. I liked how the tent walls were near vertical to maximize the head room. I used it for a week in north Carolina outer banks and it held up nicely to moderate winds and four days of off & on torrential down pours and rain. Only had minor leaks at the seam between the top and bottom side panels, less than a pint, but no leaks at all from rail fly, doors or windows. I usually seam seal my new tents but didn't have time for it. Only issue I have is I feel the rain fly is to short over the side windows. An extra foot going out would allow better ventilation in bad weather. I recommend this tent for any normal camping trip where weight and extremes are not an issue. Just remember to stake the lines for the fly.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Northwest Territory Family Cabin 8 Person Tent - 14ft x 14ft

My recommendation for this tent is conditional...we bought it on sale at $60.00 off and that was a big plus. Nice price for a roomy tent that we can use during the summer....AS LONG AS IT IS NOT RAINING!!! The lower seams and the corners leaked in two rainfalls we encountered a few days apart. I sealed the seams twice and the leakage persisted. The tent's seams are not flat seams and I think therein lies the problem. It is very difficult to seal this type of seam but I suspect that this type of construction (a folded seam that rests perpendicular to the wall of the tent) is less expensive to manufacture than, say, the flat seam found in the better and pricier Colemans and Eurekas. I'm thinking of giving it one more shot what a product like a clear silicone that is purposed for bathroom and kitchen seal work. I am thinking that I will run a very small bead of silicone along the stitching forcing the sealer into the needle holes. If this doesn't work the tent is going back to the seller. It is a roomy tent and the price for square foot was great and I really have no other complaints but we don't like water in the tent, in our clothes, luggage, etc. If you can buy one on a good sale and spend a few hours effectively sealing the seams then it might be considered worth the purchase.

I would recommend this product to a friend.
