The most confi noise canceling headphones

We bought this for our baby girl to take her concert without hurting her ears. I tried it first in a loud room and it really reduced the background noise. The soft ear muffins were so comfortable. At a concert, we put on our baby girl and she slept peacefully through out the concert. Wonderful headphones with effective noise canceling. Definitely suggest to use!

Awesome Pair

I bought two pairs of these for my wife and I on a 4-hour plane ride. I had no idea how they would perform as I have tried a couple of "discount" noise cancelling systems and nothing ever came close to the premier Bose system you drool over in the store but cannot afford especially if you do not travel that often. NOISE CANCELLATION These? Oh they are good! Both of us were very impressed. The headphones are very comfortable, perhaps the most comfortable I own and a love the fact that you can detach the cord and use them just to eliminate noise. On the plane they cancel out about 80-90% of the engine roar, enough that you could go to sleep. SOUND QUALITY Deep base but not overwhelming. Like other noise cancellation phones I've used turning it on even in a quiet room seems to boost the treble and make them sound better. Without that they are not very "clear" sounding and I couldn't find an equalizer setting that compensated the way I wanted it to. So overall I'd give the sound quality above average but not great. These phones are best used for their purpose--on a plane. MISC They fold up nicely and come with a sturdy zipper bag to carry them in. Travelling with them is a breeze. I would recommend that you always detach the cord prior to storing in the bag. I left the cord attached and I suspect I shorted it due to too much bending. I'm using another cord until I can get it replaced.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Overall
A better value than the Bose Quiet Comfort.

Here is my comparison between this headset and the Bose Quiet Comfort 15 Acoustic Noise Cancelling Headphones: Comfort: Bose - 10, NC40 - 8. The NC-40 is much heavier and cranky, compared to the Bose. However, it is still quite comfortable for an over-the-ear style headset. Sound: Bose - 10, NC-40 - 8. The NC-40 is a bit "Bass Heavy". The Bose provides an overall crisper sound (while still giving plenty of bass). Active Noise Reduction - Bose - 10, NC-40 - 8.5. The Soul headset does a pretty good job of electronically removing outside noise. The Bose headset does it a bit better. Passive Noise Reduction: Bose - 0, NC-40 - 9. With the Bose headset you don't have a choice, either it's switched on or it doesn't work at all. The NC-40 headset CAN BE LEFT SWTICHED OFF and then it works like a normal, and very nice, headset. Convenience Features: Bose - 8, NC-40 - 7. They both include a carrying case. I marked the NC-40 down a point because the way it folds creates the need for a much larger case. Overall Value: Bose - 8, NC-40 - 10. Factoring in the cost with all of the above, even though I've found the Bose to be a much better performing headset, the difference to me, doesn't justify the additional cost. Summary: If you want the best, regardless of price, then get the Bose. If you want the best for your money then you will do better with NC-40.

Reasonable price

For 1/6 of the price (Bose's headphones are 300, this NC40 are 50 Bucks), these headphones challenge Bose's Quiet Comfort headphones. Having tried both, I can say that the noise cancelling function is only slightly better on Bose's headphones than on these. The sound quality on the Bose headphones, however, are much better compared to these. In terms of safety. In addition, the Bose headphones are much more sturdy and comfortable compared to these. However, again considering the price, if you're looking for great noise cancelling headphones for a reasonable price, these NC-40 are the headphones you need. If you're looking for overall amazing headphones and do not care to much about spending the money, get the NC-40.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

You have my 5star

Overall, I was pleased with these headphones. I've never owned a pair of noise cancelling headphones, so I'm a little handicapped with regard to having something to compare against, but here are my reactions. I don't know if there's anything to the break-in argument or not. I've had these for about three months, I use them daily to listen to music of all kinds as well as the spoken word. I guess a total of about 80 to 120 hours of use all told. The noise cancelling works pretty well. I tried wearing the headphones with no music source playing through them and then seeing what happens to various types of outside noise. With a steady low-frequency sound, they work quite well. The humming air-conditioner or a lawn-mower in the neighbor's yard have their volume cut by about 50%. Interestingly, these sources have their frequency shifted to a higher pitch, as well. I could see the NC-40 being quite useful on an airplane flight to cut engine noise. Variable noise, like a TV in an adjacent room playing a sporting event is not quite as well-filtered. There is some attenuation, but it's not nearly as effective as with steady tones. These seem well-made. Removing a side panel to replace batteries or set the high-low switch is tricky, but becomes simple once you get the hang of it.

GET IT, highly Recommended

These worked really well! I was impressed how well they worked. They were very comfortable on a 5.5 hour flight. I have not used the Nakamichi brand but I thought these were awesome for only $50. I would highly recommend.

Overall
Very comfortable, I felt more warmer on my ears.

For this price on noise cancelling headphones, I do not have much high expectation as compared to Bose. When I got it, I fully agree the noise canceling is very high performance (and comfortable). It comes with carrying case, and a nice mesh pouch for cables. The touch and feel is premium and the ear cushion is extremely comfortable. The price I pay for this Nakamichi is worth much more.

I would recommend this product to a friend.
