Amazing
I waited for years to buy a home theater system because I didn't like the idea of running wires all over my living room. The only wires required for this system are between the sound sources (TV and blue-ray player) and the sound bar. The subwoofer operates wirelessly. The sound is great; there are music presets on the remote to make it easy to switch from music to movie. It was easy to connect my Android phone through Bluetooth and play music over the system, and it sounded great. It's also easy to switch between sources. Did a sound comparison at ******** with Sony HTCT260, this Nakamichi is much better in clarity and bass. The sound experience for watching is amazing on the Nakamichi where you can hear all the details. The Sony looks ugly and bulky compared to our NK 22.

This soundbar is the best
Honestly, I bought this mainly for the Bluetooth. I like being able to play my music on it regardless of where my phone is in my room. But you can get that in many soundbars. I got this one because the incredible sound quality and deep bass is awesome, and also the design is compact and stylish. I'm really looking forward to watching movies with NK 11, as I could hear the bass from my music (pop/rock, not even that bass heavy) from all over the house. Anyway, I think this is a great soundbar. Nakamichi is a company known for its audio equipment; this is a high-quality device. It's really a must have for anyone with a TV, unless you want to go down the surround sound road, which is definitely not for everybody. With this, you get great sound, strong bass and a compact and stylish bar with Bluetooth, all for a sub $299 price. How far can it go wrong?

Bad sound - most reviews are fake

Most of the reviews for this soundbar are fake. The people leaving positive reviews are working for Nakamichi, and are only reviewing Nakamichi products. Click their screen names. This soundbar is bad. It's frequently out-of-sync with the tv picture, so there is a split second delay between lips moving and sound coming out. It's really annoying. The bass is muddy, like a wet towel was thrown over the speaker. Overall, sound is not clear, and wasn't any better than the tv speakers by themselves. Do not recommend.

WOW! Amazing

If I could give this 10 stars I would! I recently bought the Vizio SB4021M-Al and this Nakamichi NK11 to test out which one I would like best. I tried the Vizio and thought the sound was very good, but after a couple of days, I noticed the subwoofer started to rattle like it was blown. I never had the volume up past 13(which is not very high) and I was the only one who used it. When my NK 11 arrived, I tried the Nakamichi. The quality from the start on this one just seems better than the other two units. When I plugged this in, I was very impressed with the sound and the bass! Now here's where the fun began. I then realized I hadn't even played around with the bass settings.... I turned the bass up to +6 and I was BLOWN AWAY!!! I was afraid of turning it up because of my neighbors. (I live in a condo). There is no shortage of bass. I could literally FEEL the rumble and the music through this thing. (And I don't have it up loud by any means) I also live in a 1900 Square foot condo and my living room is not small by any stretch. Anyone who says this doesn't sound good, or doesn't have enough bass, or sounds like tv speakers, really needs to get their hearing checked....This by far beats anything I have heard in this price range! If you are in the market for a sound system, but don't want the hefty price tag or the clutter of wires, this is a MUST have for any home theater!!! P.S: The VIZIO are going back tomorrow!

Amazing holiday gift

I've thinking of doing an upgrade from my Samsung TV speakers a while. The internal speakers were fine for my needs--plenty loud and all. But I just wanted something with a little more bass and more "richness". I saw the Nakamichi NK 11 for US$299 at a sale and figured this was the time to upgrade. The setup was a breeze and the sound is an improvement from before. I would recommend this for anybody looking to upgrade from stock speakers at a reasonable price. Pros * Bluetooth connectivity. Easily paired with my phone and can play music, internet radio, etc. Love this feature! * Wireless sub. Great to have the flexibility to place this someplace hidden or near a free power outlet. * Optical input. I thought I wanted something with HDMI inputs but realized that all my AV devices go through the TV anyway. Directly connecting the audio from the TV is a much easier and logical setup. There're other models with comparable features and HDMI inputs (for more money)--but do you really need it? Plus, Optical cables are cheaper and less bulky than HDMI cables. * Front display and control on sound bar. Nice to be able to see the mode/input/volume and access things like on/off, volume and input from the unit and do not need to do everything from the remote. * Custom settings. You can adjust the presets for movie, music and vocal. Highly recommend for holiday gifts.

Great improvement to TV sound quality

I have a more traditional Bose home theater system with receiver in my living room so I was curious to see how this would compare. I paired mine with a Samsung UN50EH6000 50? LED TV. Since the TV was going in the bedroom a full speaker system a TV watching will be more casual, a full speaker system seemed excessive. Yet, the built-in speakers don't create rich sound, making external speakers appealing for this purpose, this speaker system seemed perfect. I found it very easy to hook up, perfect for an electronics novice. There was nothing more complicated here than setting up the TV itself. I especially like that there is some flexibility in where you place the sound bar. It doesn't have to be wall-mounted, which in my situation was ideal. The wireless subwoofer is also handy since I strongly dislike cords hanging out. I have found sound quality was good for what this is. Though I do think theater-like sound is a bit of a stretch. You definitely do not get the surround sound effect that comes with true surround sound speakers. If you expect that, you will likely end up disappointed. However, the sound is noticeably richer than my TV's built in speakers and good for everyday TV watching. If you are watching a lot of movies with sound effects and don't mind the extra cost and know-how needed for a home theater system, you may find yourself more satisfied going that route. However for more casual TV watching and a less complicated set up experience, this delivers. I could also see it being a great option for those who move around frequently and don't want to have to deal with mounting speakers since depending on your TV stand, you don't have to mount anything. Overall I think as long as your expectations are reasonable, this is a really great sound system that is easy to set up and improves sound quality over what is natively available in your TV. In terms of value, it is much better than Samsung HW-F550 which cost $399.99.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Great buy awesome clarity & bass

My wife and I aren't audiophiles but we watch a lot of DVD movies and appreciate good sound quality. Our old 5.1 system was showing itself inadequate for our needs so my search began for an inexpensive replacement. After much research (plus a few questions here) I decided upon the Nakamichi NK 11 based upon reviews here and elsewhere. Difference in audio quality between the NK 11 and our old system is night and day! Our 22x13 front room wasn't conducive to a good 5.1 setup so for our needs a sound bar works just as well despite the lack of true surround sound. What we wanted in a new audio system was clarity, depth and more bass. The NK 11 really delivers on all counts. I test an audio system by listening to a scene that's complex and varied. There are a few scenes in "The Avengers" that work well, allowing me to determine not only what sounds are rendered but are they also clearly distinguishable. By going over the same scene multiple times after altering the NK 11?s settings/bass volume/modes I could tweak the output to best suit our particular needs. The subwoofer & overall volume can be overwhelming in as small a room as our front room but that's easily dealt with by dialing it down to give us a solid bass presence and deep booms without knocking the windows out of their frames. If you want all the bells & whistles along with true 5.1 Surround Sound then looks elsewhere. However, if you want quality sound at a budget price then give the NK 11 high recommendations. Despite the lack of HDMI (which I uses optical that is good enough), I give the NK 11 5 stars for value & sound quality at a surprisingly low price as compare to Energy Power Bar Soundbar that cost $399.99.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Booming bass and crystal clear audio perfect match for Bluetooth enthusiast

A perfect match for any blue tooth enthusiast, have your friends or family come over and want to play that new song for you they just downloaded from their phone, Bluetooth Sync and it is done. You will be clearly impressed with the Nakamichi NK11 2.1 Channel 280 Watt Sound bar. This product is truly amazing in my opinion just plug it in and fire it up. The connection is easy and simplest way to connect I found to the sound bar was with the optical cable to the LED TV. Make sure you remove the small clear caps from the optical cable as for it will not click into place as I did not do this and had a little bit of trouble as for I had never used a optical cable before. I mounted it just below my TV on the wall with two screws and was able to hide all the wires behind the TV on the wall. My wife was very please, I was too I must say. We have pumped it up during one weekend and blast effects of the sound bar disturbed my neighbors. Initially, we are thinking of getting JBL SB 300 that cost $399, but we are satisfied with this system for the quality and price. Thank you, Nakamichi.

I would recommend this product to a friend.
