    Great Sunday morning treat. October 18, 2010

    I wanted a to have a cappuccino on Sunday morning to go with my New York Times and I did not want to having to leave the house and find a starbucks. I bought the Mr. Coffee 4-Shot Steam Espresso Machine and I couldn't be happier with it. My espresso machine is easy to use, easy to clean and looks nice on the kitchen counter. I recommend picking up a 20 once stainless steel steam pitcher, and an easy steam thermometer. These two things will help you get the best possible froth on you cappuccino!

    worst ever espresso maker. January 05, 2010

    1. Not real espresso. I now this is a steam not a pump driven but I have go in the past with some other brands that make a much better coffe. the first thing was that the knob start to be very hard when machine was hot at the point that in just the 3rd month of use it broke apart. it have a very cheap construccion all plastic very weak fells like my daughter kitchen toys, super ugly. you can not tamp the ground coffe like it is suppouse for espresso because the machine will not have the power to push the water thru. NO NADA NOTHING of crema. My old fishion stove top maker do a much better job than this. when you put the basket holder and try to tightened it fell like the machine will twist and crack. RUN FOREST RUN go away from this machine. Kmart and Sears got much better coffe makers. cheap krups are the best for steam low price espresso maker. if you want a starbucks espresso you need a pump driven espresso maker.

    This machine makes excellent espresso. It makes a nice little 4-shot pot of espresso and is very easy to clean. It also had the attachment for steaming your latte though I prefer "straight shots" during the week to get going in the morning. Making espresso in the morning is great.

    So I bought this product during the holidays, thinking it was the best thing. Well not really, it takes practice to get the espresso technique down. I think also the size of the machine wasn't that great either its very tiny in size. I tried it and didn't like it. I ended returning the Mr. Coffee machine back the following week. Only recommend this product if you know how to use the espresso tool and have patience.

    Pros:
    inexpensive

    This morning our espresso machine died ***taps in the background*** and we only had one. My wife and I settled for less than perfect instant "coffee" until the stores opened. When I shopped around I found no espresso machines at the first two stores, one for $120 at the next, and finally came across this Mr Coffee machine for $40 --- SOLD.

    I made some espresso and frothed some milk (uncommon for me, but it's a new gadget) and it worked as expected. Nothing unusual happened, the taste is normal. One thing though, when you froth the milk, the milk doesn't cool the coffee but keeps it hot -- watch out for the first sip. I turned mine into iced cappuccino, ahh!

    In summary this does what it's supposed to do, and for only $40.

    Is it the world's best cup of espresso? No, but we are in the U.S. and you need to be in Europe for that.
