Works well, but boils water loudly and is cheaply made
This unit does its job very well, putting out a good mist that is free of bad odors and makes the room very comfortable. Unfortunately, when its boiling water at full heat (at either setting, low or high), it sounds like fireworks are going off nearby. Very loud, echoing pops. The occasional gurgle from the water tank is comparatively quiet. Much of the plastic this unit is made from is soft. That would be OK, except that the reservoir and heating chamber don't sit on the base very well. The outer tray at the bottom gets rather hot to the touch by design. The tank is reasonably large and can be carried from the top. However, it cannot be held easily as you fill it at a faucet. Overall, this unit is tolerable, but not as safe, sturdy, and inexpensive as the slightly smaller Vick's humidifier I've ordered to replace it.
