Bought this machine because it was supposed to be as sturdy as an industrial washer. And it was working great for the first five months.....until it exploded in my basement! The top flew off and the base was held back from sailing across the basement by the hoses and electric plug. The end result is that it was replaced due to the warranty....but it looked like someone took a bat to the machine. Totally destroyed....repairman was speechless...and the delivery guys had a hearty laugh too! I am using the exact machine replacement but will NEVER use the high spin speed again!

I cannot get a hot wash. When setting for a hot wash, both hot and cold water goes in and I end up with cool water, not hot. When washing a small load, sometimes the water will fill up all the way to the top, using about 3 times the necessary water. I wish I had never bought this washer, and would gladly trade it in on one that is not computerized.

We've had nothing but trouble with this machine since recall work was done Feb. 11 2013. No problems in the two years prior to that (we purchased in late 2010). UE errors (unbalanced loads), dL errors (lid lock) and overfilled tub w/ water on the floor. Now, after 6 Technician repair visits and 44.6 hours on the phone, Sears seems finally willing to replace it. But, according to others' recent reviews of this machine I fear we will find that the replacment will continue to have the same problems as the machine it is to replace. Suggestion: Don't buy a Kenmore Elite, High Efficiency top-load machine of any kind.

I went to Sears specifically looking for a washer that would allow me to wash my king sized bedding. When I have washed my blankets or comforter it gets uneven and has to be redistributed. The other day it took 3 hours to wash my comforter with all the times it stopped. Another thing is it does not do a good job washing bathroom rugs. It completely mattes them down and even after drying they do not fluff up. Be prepared to live with a funky smell from this washer. I do laundry every day (mostly 2 loads a day) and keep the top open when not in use. I have bought the washer machine cleaners but have spent a lot of money on air freshers trying to keep the smell of stinky feet out of my laundry room.

This Kenmore Elite is now about 5 months old and the wash time increases each month because of the UE and uE errors (unbalanced load). As I read the Sears website, in my opinion, the only people that are satisfied with their purchase are those that have used the machine for a short period of time. I had Sears repair come to investigate and the repair person was well aware of the problems and told me that the machines are made by LG and are loaded with electronics ? particularly for sensing the balance of the loads when spinning. They ordered over $400 in parts in addition to the $130 labor charge (I'm glad that Sears has a one year warranty) for which the parts will arrive next week. He was not enthusiastic that this would solve the problem. I wish there were lemon laws for products such as this. This is not an inexpensive machine and I feel sad that I?m out the amount of money I paid for this unreliable washing appliance.
Beware of the following: 1. This machine will adjust the cycle time based on operation. That means the user needs to be prepared to return multiple times until the washer finishes. 2. Bigger deal: If the user lets clothes remain in the washer after it completes the process, the clothes will start to bleed on one another. This includes items that are reasonably close in color. In other words, the light colors will bleed onto the other light colors. 3. Last but not least, if one uses the higher speed spin options, expect the clothes to come out as a very tightly packed bundle forced against the tub. That means everything will be wrinkled and it takes extra time to work the clothes apart from one another. As a result, we only operate the machine in a low speed mode by manually changing the spin speed, no matter what cycle is selected. Other than that, the machine does wash clothes and has an excellent capacity. Build quality seems to be good.

We have had the repair man out twice. And we are going to have them out again. The second time was for the recall on it. It keep going to the UE. light. Now it puts more time on your cycle to wash clothes, when it was less before. Also the bleach container keeps filling up with water and does not drain out. It is the noisest washer i have ever had. I will never buy a Kenmore again.

This has got to be the worst purchase I have ever made at Sears!! From day one, it was UE code after UE code. Techs at Sears wanted to know if I leveled the machine to start with. Why yeah! Then he suggested I Loctite the adjusting screws to keep them from moving. They can't move, it won't spin long enough. Already had one recall and two service calls. Still not fixed. Going to buy a old fashioned Hotpoint. Had one of those for around 12 years with no problems. Not to mention a third of the cost.

We just purchased this washer & are very pleased! It cleans laundry efficiently & the machine is very quiet! It has a brain so need to worry about water levels - it does that for you! Plus, it has multiple setting & options to choose from!

The washer has had many problems and one recall... BUT one that has not shown up yet .. and will is that I have had my washer less then 2 years when I noticed that it is rusting! Yes, in the bleach department area. Pull up the plastic seal and you will see it rusting. What is bad is that I got my brother and son to buy one and theirs is less then 2 years old as well and also rusting. Beware!!! Do NOT BUY.

I'm writing this as I'm waiting for the repairman to arrive for the second time in less than a week. We bought this washer after old the one died in mid-January. The very first time I used it it spit out the error code FE, indicating a faulty water valve. I called up Sears and the service agent had me do a restart, telling me it was probably just from the newness of the machine. Seemed to work just fine after the restart. About three weeks ago the FE code once again came back up. I tried a reset, thinking it might help, but no luck. In fact, it made things even worse by releasing water onto the basement floor. Service technician came out and said he'd have to order the part. Took a week to come in. He came 5 days ago and fixed it. DId a load last night, started another one today, and what do we have? Another FE code. If he can't fix it today, they can haul this one out of here. 3 error codes since January after maybe 25 loads of performance? I'm done.
