    On May 19, 2010, we bought a chest freezer ( 6.9 cu. ft. Kenmore model 19702) from Sears.  Yesterday, Nov. 21, 2011,  I went to get some ice cream out of it and it was mush along with all the thawed meats, seafood and other frozen goods.

    It was awful...    We lost about $200 worth of frozen food.

    We should have known we were in trouble when we bought it .  Everytime you opened it to get things out, you had to wipe off the water drips from around the rim of the door.  I constantly used the scraper to remove excess ice.   (We never had this problem with our old chest freezer.)

    The freezer stopped working on 11-21-11.   The green light continues to flicker but the motor is out.   We lost over $300 in food.

    The warranty on the freezer was for only 90 days  (Why can't they have 5 year guarantee warranties on these things.)

    I looked in the manual and there is no pics of the motor parts for one to try and figure out what is wrong.

    NO tips on why the green light flicks.  No info if there is a fuse or not.

    I can't believe we have a Kenmore ?LEMON? from sears and there is nothing we can do but hire their repair service ($75 visit plus parts )or buy a new one(Somewhere else).

    Our last freezer lasted over 20 years and was made in the U.S.

    This model lasted only 1 YEAR AND 6 MONTHS.
