Hamilton Beach Breadmaker--GREAT GREAT BREAD and so easy December 09, 2010

This is the greatest breadmaker I have ever tried.  The only tip that I have is once the mixing first starts, make sure that you pay attention so you can add water or more bread flour to make the dough just right.  I haven't had any problems with the mixing blade stickin to the bread.  And it is so easy to clean.  It pretty much comes out without mess at all.  I would highly recommend this product!

Hamilton Beach Homebaker - good value. December 06, 2010

After checking bread machines on-line & seeing that Sears is selling the identical bread maker for $38.99-- printed out a copy & went to my local K-Mart on Sunrise Blvd., Sacto, CA.

I showed the sales girl the printout & asked if K-Mart would price match since they're affiliated w/Sears.  She said she had to ask her manager--so I followed her to the front of the store where the mgr. was at the Customer Service desk.  When the clerk asked her re:  price matching-- the mgr. in a loud & rude tone of voice said "we don't price match!"  So, I replied keep it-- 'm not going to pay $10 more just to buy it at K-Mart!

I then drove over to Sears where I purchased it for $38.99 & told the clerk about the K-Mart mgr & she was surpised that the woman wouldn't give me the Sear's price.

Guess K-Mart doesn't want my business as I certainly won't go back there again.

every family should get one. so easy to use. December 21, 2011

    Pros:
    Decent breadmaker

I thought about buying a breadmaker for a while. I wasn't sure if it is worthy the money after all, people have been making breads by hands for centuries. So I first tried to make breads by hands. It is not easy, I have to knead, or mix the flour with chopsticks, then i have to bake it in the oven, etc. quite time consuming, and result is not consistent.

Then I saw that Sears was selling this one for only 39.99 during the 2011 black Friday and Saturday. This is the cheapest breadmaker that I can ever find anywhere. So I decided to buy it right away. I am glad that I did. This machine is not only good for making breads, you can also use it to make pizza doughs!

I love the pizza dough, oh my god, if you are a pizza lover, you should buy this one. The pizza dough is as good as any pizza that you buy at the pizza shop. You can't tell the difference. And they are better than some of the frozen pizzas for sure. Just put all the required ingredients in the machine, about one hour and 30 mins later, you will get the perfect pizza dough. Then you can put whatever toppings you like on the pizza. And you will get the perfect pizza that you have ever made every time.

As for breads, I tried to make the french bread first. I didn't follow the instruction. I put too many different things in the machine, and I put in some regular flour, so the end result was disappointing. The second time, I tried to make the basic bread, and I put in the exact required ingredients. The bread was perfect, way better than the ones that I tried to make by myself.

So here I am, writing this review after I made two pizza doughs and two breads. I have never tried any other breadmakers, this is my first one. Other fancy ones can sell for almost $200. But this machine did the exact same thing perfectly.

And unlike the other user, I have no problem with the kneading paddle at all. I suspect that the other user may have put the paddle upside down which caused it to break, etc. As a matter of fact, it seems that the paddle is "glued" to the pan after first use. I tried to take it out, but I can't.

Every household should get a machine like this, and a soymilk maker. They will make your life easier, and healthy. If you don't even know what a soymilk maker is, you must read about them, and buy one right away. So you can drink healthy beanmilk daily. The beanmilk are way cheaper than milk.

update: I tried to use the "french bread" cycle three times with different ingredients, the end result is not what i expected. It is not like the typical bread. it has too much water in it, the regular cycle only requires 1 cup of water, this one requires 1.5 cups of water, and it takes one extra hour. it actually doesn't rise as much as the regular bread. so i won't use that cycle in the near future. other people might like that. I uploaded two pictures on here, you can see them for yourselves.

i also tried the sweet bread cycle. that final product is the best bread that i have ever made, amazing!

one extra note, you don't have to measure everything precisely, the end products are always good.
