My friends are making fun of me on Facebook.

I read the other review, and agree. It throws snow. I just went through about 2" of fine powder very quickly. It is quiet. One person who commented on my wife's Facebook picture of me using it said it looked like I was pushing an electric spaceheater down the sidewalk. One of the other drawbacks is that you end up wearing some of the cloud of fine snow that it throws, and you need to go over the walk again, because it throws snow on the part you already did. It throws snow FORWARD, not to the side.

Overall
It has its pros and cons

Pros (i) used it successfully on 4" thick snow that was walked on, (ii) clears fresh snow fast, and (iii) quiet - I'd bet you could use it in the middle of the night and not break a noise ordinance. Cons: (i) throws snow as a fine mist in front of you, you must be careful to plan how and when to use it to avoid such perils as throwing snow on spaces you cleared, throwing a rock and breaking a window or hitting a person, (ii) does not work very well on steps, (iii) heavy - you need to be able to hold it to use - you will not look forward to carrying it a long distance to a job site, and (iv) it is not battery powered - you must supply an extension cord which constrains how far you can use it from an electrical outlet and also means that you must manage the extension cord to avoid cutting it with the snow shovel or become snagged or tangled. We will keep it around, it does fill a need. It isn't as flexible as I'd hoped.
