    You can't do better for the price! October 31, 2011

    I bought this DVD player for Christmas (2010) for my husband, who is a DVD addict.  We don't have cable, and only watch regular television for NFL football - the rest of our waking hours, a DVD is playing in the background.  Where most people would be using the player for 2-4 hours at a time (a movie or two), the DVD player in our house is usually working 12-15 hours/day, sometimes more.  It's not unusual for us to pause a film at 2 in the morning and resume it when we wake the next day, on the weekends.

    This player has never let us down, and is only just now showing signs that it needs to be taken apart for a thorough cleaning and maintenance, which considering that we live in a very small house and have two smokers in the house, that's an amazing "track record" for any DVD player.  We have spent three to four times the price for other DVD players that either broke down completely or refused to read certain discs (second-hand, especially); yet this player reads them without complaint.

    My only complaint is that the up/down/left/right buttons are skewed a bit to the right (up is more Northeast-facing than North, for example), and there is no screen saver if a movie is paused or the DVD player isn't in use.  But for the money - I sincerely recommend you buy two.  One for you, and one for the friend who comes in and sees how well yours works!

    This GPX Compact Dvd player is not the best one to buy June 28, 2011

    It was a week I had it working fine then it stop working. It wouldn't open it owuldn't turn off it wouldn't play the DVD. So right now it sits as a decoration and we can't return it because we thought its working fine lets throw the recepit and the box away and we did. If I was you I wouldn't buy it.

    We dont have cable or dish, but we use the DVD player often, but is not used constantly, it is not too big or too small, the remote is smaller than other remotes we had, its cute. So far it is working good but of course at the price we purchased it for cant expect it to work like an expensive DVD player.
