Confused
Wow! Reading all the comments I don't know whether to be stunned or scared. I've only done 1 load, but I loved this washer. I'd gotten a Kenmore delivered on 3/4/14 that had a computer in it. I did about 6 loads and I intensely disliked it. It took an hour to 2 hours for one freaking load (which I was told was normal). The only negative to this new GE they let me trade the Kenmore for is, it's a water saver, so if you're like me you'll want to put it one level higher than usual. And in response to one negative comment, the regular colored spin cycle worked excellently. (Crossing my fingers and toes, but I think this one will remain a good one for a long time.)

Please do not buy this washer!!!!!!! JUNK, JUNK, JUNK
Same problem as other posters, clothes come out wet and soapy. Have to do multiple rinse cycles. Warm water setting is a joke, its hot or cold thats it. Should have returned machine after the first week. Now it howls and screems and dumps water on the floor with anything over half a load. I could wash clothes faster with a wash board in the sink. Sears will not exchange so I am stuck after only 6 months. Leason learned if its junk to start with it only gets worse.

Don't buy it!

I am a loyal Sears customer. I usually buy Kenmore. This set was in the store, and I bought it. I wish I'd been online and just ordered the Kenmore set. I am on my second washer in less than 7 months. I've set up at least 3 service calls about the other one. Less than a month, this one is doing the same thing as the the first one. It sounds like it's about to break .. when washing - the drum sound back and forth and ticking. No matter how I situate the laundry in this thing (happened with the first one too) 50% of the time it (laundry) will all go to one side like the drum isn't level. These aren't huge loads of clothes either. I had my dh sit and listen and run to stop it from knocking against the wall a few times. He was less tolerant than me. The matching dryer is being serviced today. I'm so disappointed. We worked so hard to buy new appliances for the home. I've had the stove already replaced also - under warranty. I'm tip toeing around the dishwasher and fridge we bought. Those are Kenmore so maybe things will go better. Just warning others that don't have money to waste. They definitely don't make appliances they like they used to - meaning all of them we have. With the washer, I can't leave the vicinity when it's on.

This washer was a gift and it is the worst machine I have ever owned. Should of stayed with Maytag or Kenmore. It is so loud and doesn't rinse well at all. I have to rinse twice. The 4 pcs at the bottom inside have broken off. I would never buy another GE product. It s always off balance , no matter what you put in it.

A waste of money

We bought this washer a year ago to replace our Kenmore, which we had for 15 years before it went out.. Worked okay for a couple of months, but was not particularly pleased with it overall. It is a piece of junk! The drain/spin cycle has to be repeated otherwise the clothes are too wet to put in dryer. Cannot use the bleach dispenser as it will leave bleach in the washer (probably in the drum?), so your next load will have bleach spots. I have ruined several clothes with this. The service tech suggested we put the bleach in the water and not use the dispenser. What is the point of having a dispenser!! The softener dispenser, unless you clean it after each wash, will leave spots on the clothes. It does not have a delicate or hand wash cycle, so I called the company and they said to wash my delicates and sweaters in the light cycle of the perma press. It will spin like the regular cycle and twist the clothes so much that even the dryer won't take the wrinkles out. I am going to sell this (for a very reduced price) and get something else. I will not use GE washers again.

Design changes all new TL this way? Issues h2O level sensor, suds.

Replaced a Kenmore Elite top loader considered the Cadillac with all the options that was either wired wrong by a re-builder so it clunked during the drain process and drew so much power the all the lights would dim in the house. But Kenmore got it sudsy and clean. This machine appears to have a mind of its own as in a computer chip. It will spin up a little after you turn the **** off for some designed reason. If you leave the **** on with door open its timer will continue to turn and ultimately kick in and begin draining. Perhaps many machines do that. Its very quiet machine. I think it does not have either the same drive design as the old Kenmore or perhaps a belt rather than a transmission coupler or what. Its much lighter in weight than that old Kenmore. I really don't know the difference in design but its obvious it does not suds up the soap anywhere near as much, hardly at all regardless of how much soap. You cannot open it to see run like the old one. Unless I defeat the sensor switch. The part mounted to the lid is magnetic. I could see the tub itself moves back and forth rather than the agitator it seems. So I am guessing there is a belt drive or transmission connector that moves the tub rather than the agitator. Perhaps Kenmore did but I recall agitator action not this. New TL's you can push basket around empty. It makes diff sounds However it does seem to work quietly and efficiently. It does seem to have a mind of its own. It spin time is the loudest it gets and it seems to spin the water out fine for me. Ours has a SS tub. All machines have plastic tubs out beyond the washer basket which in this case is stainless steel. Thus it does not rust so easily as a baked enamel one which you will see is important to us for a reason listed below. One thing to keep in mind about those plastic tubs beyond the drum or basket you see is if a nail or long screw gets in there and reaches thru one of the holes it may put a hole thru the tub. This was a returned washer that was checked by a warranty contractor to work with no problems after it had been returned by original buyer that complained as some have here that it did not drain. Either like the person that had their drain hose extended to 7' high that did not drain well enough for them or one who played with the dials rather than let it decide for itself what it should do, or possibly it was well out of level or packed to full of clothes this person must have done something similar. I have had no problems other than the one below and the less sudsy behavior of this machine. We like to save water from the shower heating up and other sources like the rain. The machine can be loaded with clean water from such sources. However do not load it too high and let it decide how much is full. Also do not change the fill setting or it may attempt

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Junk

Thisis only the third washer I have ever owned. The other two lasted 15 to 20 years and were not GE products. This washer was broken in a month. I have been waiting for parts for getting close to two months. I will never buy another GE product and hope Sears makes good on this purchase. I noticed a lot more bad reports on this washer since my purchase.

Save Your Money

We purchased this washer a little over a year ago when our front loader broke down and we needed something now and wanted to purchase made in the USA business. It rarely spins out the water the first time, cost me more money to do a second spin cycle. When it is on the high setting for water, many times it doesn't completely fill up and has to be reset a second and sometimes third time to get enough water in the tub to do a load of washing. The fabric softener dispenser only empties partially. Save your money and bypass this one for a washer that works!

GREAT VALUE

Washer just delivered today. No shipping damage, everything looks good. A few different sounds than our old GE. I guess that's why they included the blue info sheet about the operation of the product, but everything worked Great. GOOD BUY!!
