Garden Oasis  Curved Pergola

First, you don't need 6 people to set up. Suggestion 1. assemble all of the cross braces, but do not connect them together. Attach the cross braces F/G to the posts, making sure that the holes are lined up correctly to accept all of the bolts. Then attach braces D/E to the posts. If you are somewhat coordinated, all you will need is your wife to stabilize the opposite post from where you are working. Then attach the cross members and tighten down. Suggestion 2. Caulk the gaps between the braces at the post connections and paint all of the bolt heads to prevent rust. Took about 2 hours with a little lunch break. The only thing disappointing is the fabric cover. It has a smaller dimension then the canopy footprint. We will have a new cover made so that will solve that problem. We bought 2, big discount, will assemble the other one next weekend. Have a great summer!!! JD

It goes real well on my patio which is an odd shape. Will provide shade that a market umbrella can not. We will not have many summer lunches on our patio.

I purchased this pergola last June and by August knew I had made a mistake. I really enjoyed it during the dry weather but when the rains came the problems began - water poodles in two or three places on the canvas and makes the entire canvas sag way down. I had to use a broom to push the canvas and make the rain run off to the sides. A real pain and unattrative. When I put the canvas away this fall I notices there were several holes in the canvas - replacements are around $120. Can't do that every year. Before summer I am having a permanent roof put on as the structure part seems well made and should last. I figure with another investment I may get some years of enjoyment out of my initial investment. Would have been cheaper to just have a real pergola built!

I bought the pergola online and got free delivery into my garage. I assembled all the 2 piece parts and found everything fit well and were strong enough. The rest of the assembly required 2 people and was done piecemeal so as to limit heavy lifting. Bolt the side posts then bolt the front and rear pieces in.The unit is screwed to my concrete patio and is sturdy enough to resist some strong winds in my area. I also added wrought iron railings to the two sides which were painted to match the the unit. I replaced the curtain ties with 18" bungee cords with plastic hooks.The curtain does collect water and a good replacement would be a more open weave to let water pass through but still diffuse the sun! Maybe the manufacturer would consider using a different fabric like that. Also I reversed the outside curtain guides to avoid the bolts! Still works ok.

I was extremely disappointed when I opened the box. First of all the beams were rusty from what I could see through the wrapping. Second it took me a half hour to get everything out of the plastic wrapping. I could if dealt with the rusty beams because I could have painted it. But when I saw no instructions, no screws and no canopy, I became very frustrated. The box was a brand new box it was not opened at all. It looked like a beautiful set, just sad I had to get the dud box.

2 of us assembled it in about an hour and a half. Very easy with good instructions. It appears to be very stable and sturdy. My only complaint so far would be the water puddling in the fabric covering after a rain shower. I also anticipate that the fabric will not last long. They have designed it so that it goes over the bolt heads on the last bars. I am sure that it will wear on them quickly. It is giving us some well needed shade on our pool deck from the Florida sun. Got a great deal as a close out end of season product.

Overall I will say that I am pleased with this pergola.  It has upheld during 3 different strong storms and we live in a wind tunnel so that is to be applauded.  Our neighbors went thru 3 of those ******** gazebos last summer and so we decided to try this and it still stands.  The thing that I would complain about would be that canopy top.  First of all, as others state, water does pool into puddles on the top that you have to push off.  It also has considerable wear and one of the ties ripped off during a storm.  I was hoping that would last a bit longer but in the event that it does only last this first summer, I think it would be easy to modify it with some lattice to keep some shade.  

Plan on using this thing temporarily.  I had it for 9 days.  Assembled properly, and anchored into the ground with provided hardware.  Came home from work when it had been a stormy afternoon and the pergola was toppled over.  Metal bent and broken.  Kmart refused a refund.  I am extremely unsatisfied with my purchase.  Didn't even last me 2 weeks, and now I'm out $450! I work too hard for my money to just throw it away!  VERY unhappy.  Thanks Kmart.

Love this pergola. Bought it as a floor sample, so we had to diassemble it in the store and then take it home and reassemble. Did it all in about 3 hours now timto enjoy! Price was right too!

I bought this less than one month ago. We looked at all the reviews, got ideas on making it more sturdy and today it blew away in a light storm. We bolted it to pavers and it still didn't hold. When we looked at reviews of similar items at *****, they had said that you can put 4x4's in the legs and sand in the tubes to weigh it down. I thought that this was a great idea, but this product is fully sealed shut and hollow so you cannot do this. They are refunding me back today while my husband is currently bringing back the pieces. Too bad :( it was pretty. We are now going to just spend the money for a vinyl or wood pergola. I do not recommend this if you get any kind of wind gusts in your yard! Oh, it also damaged one of my new patio chairs!
