After buying this vacuum I decided to use it and it worked so great, I loved it! Then I wanted to use the hose/extender to vacuum my fan blades that didn't happen. Not only was it very difficult to pull and keep the hose extended, the vacuum shut itself off while I was only half done with the fan blades! ever since I have not been able to get the vacuum to work with the hose. I am returning it tonight and I just might get a different brand of vacuum. BTW I only used this vacuume four times before it decided to break!

The only thing my husband and I like about this is the ease of turning the vacuum and the weight of it. I wish it had a pedal to release it from the upright position - it seems so cheap and sounds like it's going to fall apart when it finally releases and slams to the floor. When I'm wheeling it back to put it away, it slams down again. I really dislike the hose and wand setup. I've had other vacuums that were designed much better and also sweep just as well. This vacuum is way overpriced for what you get. I did my homework and talked with others before purchasing and find it hard to believe so many people are happy with their purchase.

I am thrilled with how much embedded pet hair and dirt my Dyson DC 41 Animal picks up! It is simply amazing. However, the mini turbine and the extension wand aren't so great on the stairs, it's very stiff (the extension tube) and awkward trying to clean the stairs. I do highly recommend this product for its suction, but I will be keeping my other lift-off style vacuum for doing the stairs.

I find this machine very cumbersome and heavy and the attachments awkward to use. Hopefully the hose will loosen up someday. Trying to clean my carpeted staircase is a gymnastic feat. Cleaning the canister requires sticking my hand into it to pull out pet hair and dirt. Yuck. The handle never locks into the upright position with one try. Enough of that. I can say the suction is powerful and cleans up after my long haired pet.

I purchased the dyson dc41 after a friend recommended it to me. It arrived and was reasonably easy to assemble. It cleans my carpet well but my dissapointment is with the attachments and use on the staircase. The hose is not long enough to reach the top stair when cleaning the staircase where as my old vacuum cleaner reached all the way to the top. The pet hair attachment fails to pick up all the hair left on the staircase. Therefor i regret paying the price for a machine that faiis to do the job i expected from it.

The "Animal" was first used to vacuum an area rug in the kitchen which was full of dog and cat hair and every thing else. Afterward I got down on my hands and knees to look for same. Nothing there. All in the Bin! Such a wonderful feeling to see the disgusting stuff there, and know it was not part of my home any more. Everything about this lovely machine is so well designed and functional. Very happy. Worth the $$$$. There are so many advantages to the bin as opposed to bags I CANNOT overstate my preference. I have use both types and appreciate the limited conveniences of using a bag, but the ingenious way the bin is opened and emptied trumps anything positive I might have said about a bag.

I had the old Dyson for years and loved it. Not impressed at all with the new Animal Dyson. I find it hard to steer and when I am done using it, it takes several attempts to stand it upright. Wish I would of saved my money and my old Dyson never broke.
