Dyson  DC40 Multi-Floor Upright Vacuum

Wonderful vacuum to work with. Light & efficient

I had to have my own Dyson after borrowing a friend's this summer. I could not believe the difference and the dirt left behind by my old vacuum. I vacuumed with my 12 amp Dirt Devil then again with her Dyson. 2" of dirt was in the canister after I finished. So Santa brought me my very own DC40! Again, I did the test. Vacuumed with my old DD, then with my new DC40. Same result - 2" of dirt in the canister of the Dyson! I could not believe so much dirt was left in my carpet after vacuuming! But no more! It is much quieter, and the manueverability of the ball is amazing. I use it in the kitchen on tile and can whiz around the table and chair legs, just as easy as a broom, but with better results - all the dirt gets sucked up. Definitely worth the extra bucks to get a better clean. And even then, I saved a bundle at Sears - it was on sale, used my Sears card for an extra 10%, and even more $$ off using my reward points.

Works great on laminate, carpet and cork floors.

I have never owned a Dyson and honestly prior to this purchase was never willing to spend more than $100 on a vaccum. They never lasted long and never did what this vaccum can. In the last 10 years, I easily spent more on multiple units and could have had this wonderful little machine and a much cleaner home. I actually enjoy using the vaccum now. It's amazing. For those of you that are as frugal as I, spend the money now and save in the long run. You will never regret it.

This vacuum is worth every penny. Easy to put together, so happy I researched and looked at other models before I brought.

Replaced a 10 year-old Progressive  canister (still in use) with this. Cleans very well, more manuverable than canister. Attachments work and are cute, but brush keeps unclipping and sliding back down crevice tool. The flexible hose tends to get a tight-radius bend right at the handle-end and some practice and strength is needed to hold vacuum and hose in a position to minimize bending and undue stress on ends of hose. Dyson and Sears, I'd be happy to demonstrate. 

This arrived at my door from Sears in only it's Dyson box..no outer protective mailing box..and the Dyson box looked like it had been kicked. One big hole in it and the rest of it looked like it had been thru the war. I was furious. Over $500 for something that looked like it had been bought at a yard sale. It still makes me mad. BUT...Dyson really is the best. It is the best vacuum i have ever used and i have had several...Oreck's bowling ball has nothing on a Dyson. Dyson really sucks and it does it better than Hoover or Oreck or Kirby or anything else. You would never regret buying a Dyson............but Sears could do a heck of a lot better shipping it!!!!
