These Craftsman Plier Covers are only a few dollars so they are worth trying. They may fit your needs. They did not work for me. They generally slipped off when force was applied. In cases where they stayed on, a strong force applied to the pliers would still damage the work piece. These may be ok for very light duty jobs. Like I said, for a few bucks they are worth trying.

They work ok just don't stay on real good.
Where have these been all my life? To date I've kept a piece of old bicycle inner tube in my toolbox for workpieces that would be marred by the pliers teeth, but I like these better because they stay in place on the pliers.

Cheap price wise but does not work very well so no harm no foul for only 2 bucks

These guards are a decent value priced alternative to using a rag to protect a surface from being marred. The description states that these covers will fit 9-1/2 in. ArcJoint and 6-3/4 in. Slip Joint pliers. I found that I was able to use them on other applications such as adustable wrenches and locking pliers with ease. This is my second set of plier covers I have purchased and I have one thing worth noting regarding the durability (but for the price I can't complain). Any amount of serious pressure applied to a plier will cause the serrations of the jaws to cut through the soft rubber and any twisting force applied to the plier can cause the covers to tear. For the most part these plier covers work, but don't put that rag away just yet.
